people are getting jobs how terrifying
Can't tell if you're being sarcastic with "fucked up", because this kind of thing is inevitable. Article even says this: Millennials — the generation loosely defined those born after 1981 through 1996 — have gotten a bad rap for supposedly being unprepared, entitled and overly reliant on their parents. But research shows that they make ideal employees: A study from ManPowerGroup found that millennials are working harder than other generations, putting in more than 45 hours per week, with 21 percent taking on another job to make ends meet. And 66 percent of people in that age group are expected to work past age 65, with 12 percent saying they likely would never retire.
I mean i wasnt being serious
how do they not see a problem with this... you should be able to comfortably work a single job for a living
before: millennials are lazy, they don't have jobs now: millennials are greedy, they took our jobs
why is this news?
Quite awkward when I'm in a job training class with 25 other newly promoted co-workers, and we have to watch a presentation on "Dealing with millennials in the workforce." Everyone out of the 25, except one person, was a millennial.
moreover that'll effect people like me who actually believe in that work philosophy, as if we were the lazy ones
So basically, younger people are getting jobs - older people are retiring. Wow, top notch journalism, New York Post.
Come on, you gotta share what the presentation said...
Yes, it is the New York Post. It is a Tabloid who probably had years worth of narrative stating that Millennials are not getting jobs, lazy, blah blah blah.
Well I sure hope it goes faster, so that we get people hiring that know how fucking retarded it is to find a job nowadays. I'm having a really hard time here because I never fit any of their "profiles" as simple as their requirements are. I've sent nearly 200 job applications (I like to document how many I've sent to fuel my anger) to various jobs that I can do with my qualifications: All sorts of service spots, RETAIL, IT apprenticeships, etc. But apparently there is low unemployment here because it must be my buddy and I that are the only people in Switzerland without a job, since every aquaintance has one.
Sounds like the bullshit requirements for entry level jobs is starting to actually be seen for the bullshit that it actually is
We need to deport millennials they're stealing the jobs of the SUPERIOR generations!!!
Because American society is convinced that if someone is struggling, it's their fault for being lazy and unmotivated.
But not if it's you struggling, then it's the fault of someone else
wow we need to stop this at once soon our kids will be just like us- adults! on a more serious note, this is just like that article saying parents won't leave money to their kids because they're afraid they'll spend it on something frivolous like a house or a car. our parents, on the whole generationally-speaking, are fucking sociopaths who like the sense of superiority they get from millenials being shafted.
These pesky millennials back at it again!
They turned our historic work ethic into an excuse to be slaves to capital The point is to be be a hard worker for your personal growth, your family, your community, and so on. Work as a virtue that keeps you on the right path and is personally gratifying. It frees your time for other things As we've become reduced to commodities and globalization has intensified competition, it's all about being the most flexible and dedicated labor force, because if not someone else will take your job It's peak materialism
The whole "blergh millenials are so entitled" trend can eat my asshole, I got my first hands on experience at 16 fixing 500kg mining equipment, one of my childhood classmates is a brilliant hard worker who got a job more up north in europe, and another drives a van because he has no professional direction in life so that's just what he does now. Turns out people can be quite diverse, it's almost as if generational judgement is completely idiotic and needs to die in a fire before the first "gen z are alt-right fuccbois/sjw femimoists" start to crop up and give me an eyeball tumor.
My family keeps telling me to "prepare for retirement" and I'm like -- one I'm in my early twenties, and two, do you really think I'm going to get to retire?
"Lazy millennials won't get jobs, how horrible" "Evil millennials are getting jobs, how horrible"
So people 25-40 make up most of the workforce what a shocking revelation someone call mr. pulitzer stat
I wish being a Millennial was as cool as it sounded. Do I get somekinda super powers? Don't say incredible laziness, that's just a base trait.
millennials suck gen z for life 95' is z right?
Lots of whining kids in here who's parents make them feel worthless for being lazy, huh? I guess they're right, the parents that is, because it seems like the majority of y'all aren't reading the article at all. It's a click-bait title to grab baby boomers and other generations that have presumptions about millennials and then show them that they're wrong. It's praising you guys. Y'all some stupid fuckers.
Anywhere between like 1995 and 2000 because generations are a construct and no one can agree on exact borderlines because whatever you choose it's arbitrary and weird. They're literally just ways of getting to shit on people younger than you.
The only thing I don't like about this is that a significant part of my job is teaching old people how to use computers in my office.
What's all this stuff about 'millennials' that keeps popping up everywhere? The implication seems to be that there is a generation of people so drastically different from any other generation and so inherently flawed that there is a constant need to always balance out their loosely defined negative attributes with pitifully apologistic positive attributes that are also mostly derived from proper use of correctly interpreted, reliable statistics that are certainly not presented out of context and out of proportion. Is this just a US thing? I've been hearing that word more and more lately, as if there is a wave of barely functioning retards and social imbeciles about to run everything into the ground and everyone needs to brace for impact. I really like the suggestion that you can redeem your flawed millennial soul by struggling to make ends meet like a proper hard worker. How about lets not attribute all problems to the workers and focus the discussion on having equal, reasonable working conditions and opportunities? But there don't really seam to be any witty names and labels for generations of employers going around, huh...
