Castro Era has officially ended. And now road of Democratization of Island and eventually replacing Communism to normal Republic will begin soon.
For some reason I really doubt that, it's likely that somebody else in the Cuban communist party will just take over.
Not as long as Trump can win votes in Florida by alienating Cuba. Our best chance at bringing them in from the cold and we blew it.
Could something similar to Venezuela happen there or was that pure petrodollar fuckery?
While I don't doubt that Chavez would've been able to spin Venezuela's situation slightly better, when you reach that level of fucked you either have to go into hermit mode a la North Korea or just drop the cult of personality and start threatening, bribing and killing people. As poor and isolated as it might be, Cuba's not in danger of going into a Venezuelan death spiral right now.
Maybe we'll have a Cuban Spring

hey what gives i signed up for a dictator
From one Raul to another, he should have made me his successor. All of my Tropico islands are extremely prosperous and I don't even build secret police
It's been 59 years, 10 months and 10 days since Fidel Castro promised free elections by the way https://youtu.be/iDZ5GyVDqOc
Such a sad day for Cuba.
Raul was a fantastic leader just like me
