What a fucking joke. So much for being hard on russia lmao. Throw the fucker in prison already.
Russian puppet. Get this fucker out of the White House.
Cool, the U.S. biggest geopolitical foe controls our military. That can't go bad.
This is fucking pathetic.
I can see the reasoning, even for someone not in Russia's pocket, to avoid outright hostilities sparking a larger conflict. But that just makes the whole thing more pathetic.
If it's so obvious that war is bad and something to be avoided at all costs, if both sides are already ringing each other up to warn one another where bombs will be falling, why all the pageantry? why start stomping around in Syria, killing people, if it's all just for fucking show?
How is this any different from the deconfliction line, over which the US and Russia have been coordinating their strikes in Syria to avoid direct confrontation for years?
Mueller.
Bud.
Hurry.
Wait, Trump personally decided on the targets?
Shouldn't that have been left to the military commanders in charge of the region?
Isn't this just the pre-existing deconfliction lines?
Yeah I'm all for the Trump-Russia suspicion but two major nuclear powers helping each other avoid bombing one another and starting WW3 seems pretty reasonable to me.
because this was a strike to prevent assad from using or manufacturing wmds and we very well could have been bombing empty building
Well we have 2 options:
We can strike where Russia tells us it's safe to strike, knowing that they might be directing us to hit empty buildings on behalf of Assad.
We can strike where we want and risk bombing Russian troops, potentially prompting retaliation against the ships that launched the missiles.
Pretty much the only way to win is to not play, in which case we won't win anyways cuz people will ask why the US isn't stopping them from using chemical weapons.
Talk about a sensationalist headline. What are we supposed to do, bomb Russian troops and spark an even larger conflict?
Mr Lavrov said: "There were military leadership contacts, between generals, between our representatives and the coalition leadership.
"They were informed about where our red lines are, including red lines on the ground, geographically. And the results show that they did not cross these red lines."
I really don't understand why you would need to skew the article story to make it more negative about Trump. There are more than enough stories showcasing what an awful president you have without doing shit like this.
Huh, BDA, you never struck me as someone who took Russian officials at their word. I guess you're fine with it as long as it makes Trump look bad.
Be careful not to stoop to the other side's level.
not wanting to start a conflict with the only other nuclear superpower on the planet isnt being a "russian puppet" yall, its a good thing that he listened (although imo the bombing shouldve never happened in the first place)
Some 105 missiles were launched in response to a suspected chemical
attack in the Syrian city of Douma on 7 April that killed more than 40
people.
"Empty". Nice conspiracy theory that's also not true at all that the article directly refutes.
This is complicated.
Assad had to be punished or else the use of chemical weapons going unpunished sends a really bad message.
Listening to the Russians on this issue may sound like the wrong thing to do but there are logical reasons to do so. To avoid further escalation, but it has the downside of them giving us bad intel.
I dont one like that Trump is the one leading us through a difficult ethical quagmire.
One thing i don't get is, if Russia contacted before to tell trump where to attack. Why the hell did they act all surprised when it came to the UN meeting.
I don't see an issue with this.
If Russia had key protected individuals, or Russian troops on the ground it would have been a diplomatic disaster to bomb them.
The article is referring to the alleged chemical attack that killed 40 people, the strikes only injured 2 civilians supposedly.
I like the little "alleged" you add in there, like the mountains of evidence isn't enough that people did die and were poisoned.
People did die however no evidence has been brought forward for chemical agents used in this attack. The OPCW have not even been to the site.
They didn't tell us what to bomb, they reminded us what we shouldn't bomb. They act surprised because political theater.
Imagine throwing an entire country under the buss because of a piss tape.
I think I'd rather live in an onion article.
BDA, your anti-Trump bias is really clouding your view of everything. Any other administration would have done the same, because guess what, bombing Russian citizens by accident is really fucking bad. This isn't Putin ringing up Trump and telling him "hey don't bomb these places and I'll fix your reelection in 2020", it's the Russian government telling the US government "hey don't bomb these places, we have people and equipment there".
Well I'm glad it was empty buildings but on the other hand Putin holds 2 aces with 2 on the table so ehhh.
no shit if you didnt realise this beforehand then you are naive
