No, a company named Infogrames bought all of Atari's assets after Atari collapsed and just rebranded themselves as Atari. The Atari of old are long, long dead.
Define "active." Modern Day Atari is just Infogames using the brand name - the Atari we loved from the 80's doesn't exist anymore, and hasn't for a long time.
Literally the only thing that the original Atari and modern day Atari have in common is the name.
They probably still have no idea he's there.
