We were under online-raid and we were loosing. I had a signal supply grenade, and used it to attract attention. Air drop brought some new players, and we could fight back while raiders were distracted.
What about to add some kind of signal rocket which will place on map some marker. So everybody knew that somebody needs help.
sounds like something out of a 100x modded server and not vanilla rust. Also it would be kinda pointless cause you could say RAID at J19 or where you are
For this to be anything more than a big "Attack me, I need help!" signal it would have to only be visible to selected/allied individuals. Something like that is most likely never going to happen. And as such, again, your idea would be just a huge "KILL ME!" signal.
Bet the raiders were happy with the goodies from the drop ! it might have given them more resources they could use on the raid, and what attention were you trying to get ? if your allies were on you should have told them where you were,
Say that isn't a bad idea at all IMO, like a rocket you'd shoot and a huge sound would be produced with flashes and physical indication of your location with some smoke that would stay there for a while! FIREWORKS! Sure you'd attract more attention, probably for counter raids and all, but just imagine that one clan, righteous clan that would defend those in need!
This idea is like a double-edged stick - that is, a signal for help will draw his friends or enemies to the player. It is better to give the opportunity to use the card at the moment when you lie on the ground after being injured in order to inform your own in which square you are (it is desirable that the player and his friends play using the program for communication). As an option, you can allow players to see their friends on the world map (it is necessary that players add each other as friends on Steam or similar program).
how about a smoke grenade?
Why would they introduce a smoke grenade when they discontinued the smoke rocket ?
well you could....theoretically... get more people to come "kill you" and distract the original raiders. Then take both parties out...
With enough creativity this could work, obviously not in 100% of cases....but nothing in life is 100%
The guys that would be attracted to the drop would not be prepared for raid, so, if anything, would lessen pressure on your base, simply being between their spawn positions and your base.. Since KOS is the rule of thumb, firefights would follow. The point is valid, just not too effective.
