• Puzzle Fighter closes as Capcom focuses on Dead Rising

Capcom's mobile title, Puzzle Fighter, is soon to be no more, with the game leaving the iOS and Android stores on July 1. "As the studio is dedicating its focus to our flagship Dead Rising franchise, we have decided to sunset Puzzle Fighter," reads the Capcom Unity blog post. It confirmed the servers will shut down on July 31, giving players a full month to continue playing the game after it leaves the store. The Chibi-style fighter featuring popular characters from Capcom's various franchises launched in November last year, so it's been fairly short-lived. Capom will be gifting 10,000 in-game gem currency to all players today as well as making all upcoming characters and stages free for everyone. Regina and Dr. Wily can be downloaded today, while Ada Wong and the new stages, Darminor and Uroboros Laboratory, will be available on Monday, April 23. http://au.ign.com/articles/2018/04/20/puzzle-fighter-closing-as-capcom-focuses-on-dead-rising-development Can we please just leave Dead Rising? 4 was so fucking awful, I just don't want anymore after it. The franchise is already ruined, the only way to redeem it is it Retcon DR4 and make an actual good DR game.
take dead rising away from capcom vancouver please
>As the studio is dedicating its focus to our flagship Dead Rising franchise If this were almost any other studio, I'd be okay with it. ANYONE BUT FUCKING CAPCOM
Flagship, right. That’s like Konami coming out and talking about Silent Hill being such a series nowadays. Dead Rising 4... even has the same problem that Silent Hill has where the studio currently making the games is run by someone who genuinely believes that they are a walking bible for the franchise; despite clearly never touching a single game in the series and being just a shite development studio to begin with
Pretty sure the Producer, Joe Nickolls, left Capcom Vancouver.
I have zero faith that we'll ever get a dead rising as good as 1 again. They could maybe pull off another 2, but they've got to seriously change the engine or get in better artists. 3 and 4 looked like shit. At least 2 had a good artstyle.
eh, 3 had a bunch of neat ideas. idk what happened with 4 but i am pretty sure its capcoms shitty upper meddling trying to make a more "appealing" game for the masses.
Hmm, I thought they were in a much better financial position after the success of Resident Evil 7 and Monster Hunter and all that. The fact that they had to close down a game to dedicate employees and (presumably) funds to another game is a bit worrying.
Capcom Vancouver is a subsidiary to Capcom. Capcom Vancouver handles it's own Games.
