How is this man able to put out quality video essays of this length this frequently?
Welp I guess I am reinstalling Warframe for the 15th time.
I think this is the best video to watch if you're even mildly interested in Warframe but not sure if you should give it a shot.
Curiously there's also footage in this video from a game mode that came out only two days ago
It's likely he recorded all the voice before two days ago, got part way through editing and then added the footage in at a later date. Otherwise, this man is a fucking machine, managing to make this from just the script video in 2 days.
He kind of glosses over the incredible story elements, and for good reason. Warframe has one of the most incredible twists of any game I've ever played, and to spoil it would be a great disservice to anyone who might ever play it. I'm not gonna do that with this post, but I wanna give it a little more attention.
You're dumped into a world that at first feels like an MMO Borderlands with virtually no story whatsoever. You can imagine my surprise, then, when I started to see that the community is more protective of lore secrets (to preserve their impact for new players) than even the Dark Souls community. I respect a good story and so despite not understanding how the game could possibly go from no story to "If you spoil things for new players you're the hitler of gaming", I kept playing. And kept playing. Because it's a fun game anyways.
And then finally, 60 hours into the game, it all made sense. One of the most compelling twists in gaming history. Don't bother spoiling it for yourself out of curiosity though, even if you never plan to play the game. One of the fascinating things about the spoiler is that unless you actually play the game for all those hours, it will mean nothing to you. Nothing at all.
Truly an experience worth having, I can't recommend this game enough.
I just got to this twist recently (also about 60 hours in). I was kinda drunk at 2 am and was completely shaken that my drunk run n gun night got interrupted by, of all things, an actual story. It's a quality twist but I wish there was, like, literally anything there for the prior 60 hours of playing
What it implies to me is more that his various creative processes run concurrent with each other, and that's why he's so fast. He was recording B roll right up until just before the release of the video, so he was probably also working on the script and editing up until that point too. That as opposed to recording a bunch of B roll first and then doing the script and then doing the editing, which would take more time. It's impressive to be able to evolve all elements of a video as a single long creative process. That's just my hot take though
