We get it, you know when a server is down and you are working on it to get it up ASAP.
What most of us want, i think, i'm talking for the people i know at least, is to know what's happening while it's happening.
my 2 cents: Just put up a twitter account for official servers and use it to publicly announce when a server is down, WHY, and an ETA for when it will come up again if that's possible.
Also, i get that the toxicity of this community brings out homicidal thoughts, but you are bashing/ignoring legit questions about novel issues in the midst of useless complaints.
A friend of mine found out he is blacklisted from a server ([EU] FP 3) but the issue is related to his ISP, not his IP nor the state of the server. He's italian on an EU server but the issue is a lot similar to the Russian-Telegram-Issue.
Posts saying "*serverName* is down wtf!!11!" get the standard response.
A post talking about this issue get no response for a week.
I suppose you drown in work, and answering to problems that affect few players are down in the priority list.
Nevertheless you should consider to step up your game with official servers for your own interest. This game is one of the best ever and we get the shittiest servers on the planet and no communications about the issue unless 10000 of us start to REEEEE on the forums/reddit.
If the manpower nor the money are enough to manage it, just SELL US SOMETHING ELSE. We stole this game, get more money from us and pay people/services to improve this situation that can only snowball into a worst one. Make a branch of Official accessible only by paid subscription for example.
If i have to pay to have a stable server to play on, i'd rather give my money to you then those at Rustafied.
But idk what i'm talking about, YOU should, so please, just try to keep us updated.
The reason why they don't say anything, as they've said countless times before, is that they don't want to acknowledge or draw attention to server attacks (DDOS attacks) when they happen, because it provides the perpetuators with a sense of pride and accomplishment. As to knowing "how long", I'm sure they always work on it as fast as they could but it's not always easy to say how long it'll take.
i guess they get their pride and accomplishment from succeding in the DDoS in the first place... maybe the trade-off would be worth it, maybe not, i don't know.
The actual state of things is surely frustrating for both players and developers and would greatly benefit some more attention and care if not a complete re-work. I understand that FP has no intention to waste worktime nor money on different server management, but if they can milk some money out of it, it could be a win-win tradeoff.
