I know there will be articles on this later but right now it's all tweets https://twitter.com/_grendan/status/988137022316564480 https://twitter.com/_grendan/status/988138567938510848 https://twitter.com/TimTakesTime/status/988140581799985152
I doubt this will get articles written about it, most people have stopped giving this piece of shit any attention.
Another form of free speech prevails
Maybe excepts few right-wing/far-right websites. He sadly doing this job as political troll is only ruining Left-wingers time.
I don't get why people do this stuff. I'm a democratic socialist myself but this shit is honestly just seems so petty. Like, yeah, he's a fuckin prick. Is he a Nazi? Nah, probably not - not in any meaningful sense. Stop giving this guy reasons to make himself a victim for fucks sake.
He's already made himself the ultimate victim and will do so regardless of what happens at this point, might as well kick him on the way down as atonement for him being a fucking terrible person that caused a lot of harm.
Eh, tbf people can do what they want. He's a prick.
And concern troll that purposely pissing off left-wingers.
Haha yes let's just throw all principles out of the door because some succboi we don't like will succ regardles of our behavior. Makes total sense, but I'm going to instead try and be good to people, I've met people with worse opinions than Milo and had very pleasant arguments with them, you would be surprised how easy it is not to diarrhea at someone with just a bit of self control.
Real life isn't a debate hall. If you fuck with a lot of people, they're going to fuck with you back. They want to set him off because he's a douche and they feel like he deserves to feel unwelcome. Honestly? I agree.
I'm a bit confused by your stance, how do you feel like it's unjustified? The guy is directly related to the harassment of a lot of people and the rise of the alt-right, that's not really something that most people can be expected to shrug off.
This milo guy being one of the least impressive 'intellectuals' that have ever been presented to me aside. What's with this; 'Comrades' shit? And 'nazi scum get out', lmao. Why do Americans have to adopt the most goofy and tribal aspects of everything. You're really going to fuck up democratic socialism aren't you.
But, isn't it fair to confront people in public that have actively done the same? What he did isn't illegal and he should in no way be legally punished, but he committed a number of social sins. If people didn't treat him like this, he would face literally 0 repercussions for his behavior at all, and others would have no reason to not act in a similar fashion.
I'd say I can't wait for the German edition but I'd imagine speaking a foreign language is exactly what the globalists want
Seems to me like confronting someone about issues with them if the most mature and civil way to solve problems
These aren't like social democrats, they're actual socialists, so you can expect them to be edgelords. Tho shit like this is pretty much how milo builds his celebrity, and it was pretty nice not having to see him in the news.
Milo is so much worse than some troll, the guy has been going around promoting hateful ideologies, manipulating teenagers, encouraging harassment and is often buddy buddy with actual full blown nazis. The man goes far beyond something that you can merely "ignore" and stop giving attention. This man is complete fucking scum and has caused fuck tons of damage and he deserves to be called out for it.
milo has the right to free speech to say whatever dumb shit he wants, but the other people have the right to free speech to tell him to get fucked you reap what you sow, man
There's a difference between telling him to get fucked and a crowd of people yelling at someone -- making them feel unsafe -- until they leave.
not like milo hasnt built a career on making people feel unsafe and unwelcome
So we can do bad things to people if they've done them (and not even literally; you're alluding to something else) before?
If somebody has built a career off of shaming others, it is completely acceptable to shame them back.
do you also protest people getting banned off of facepunch for being shitty?
Not all 'bad things' are made equal. Social actions =/= criminal actions, for instance (obviously it's more nuanced than that and I'm not trying to appeal to authority here, but criminal v non criminal is a fairly safe line to draw in the sand due to the typical nature of laws)
A group of people harassing someone out of a place they have every right to be is not okay and should not be considered acceptable.
Even if that person is a purporter of hate speech? How else can people be expected to respond, or do anything against these people? The effects of Milo's actions did not end at the end of his speeches. They affected people in the world, so it makes sense that people in the world would respond as such.
Because in a world where we justify one upping the other side to beat them down, you just end up with things getting more and more out of control.
Sucks to be him but you reap what you sow I guess, oh well.
They're not responding, they're creating a threatening situation. Making someone fear for their safety is not the same as "responding" to someone.
Didn't mean to rate this agree so I just changed it to informative. On one hand I do agree that two wrongs don't make a right and if one pretty much does the same thing that another person does in retaliation it's really just childish bantering that doesn't achieve much. But on the other hand he can get fucked and all they did was heckle him so I really don't care.
