Yeah this is a good thing but remember that the governments of the world will overwhelmingly use the technology to oppress and monitor its citizens if we let them. We already see it happening in China.

It's definitely a doubled edged sword (which I lean in being against it rather than for it) That being said, it's nice to see that at least some good is being done with the technology on a larger scale. Too bad it's not what China (and other countries) will use it for
China and many more countries that use technology to oppress have already been oppressing their citizens before said technology so it isn't quite proof that it's bound to happen. If we didn't allow governments powers that can be abused they wouldn't have any powers at all.

The US and UK already have terrible track records on government spying. We have literally no reason to believe that this technology wouldn't be used to spy on us.
