My commute has one of these. I don't think the drivers are used to just how strong it can accelerate at low speeds yet
Good.
I recently had a job interview with Mercedes-benz recently and was asking them about their plans for electric vehicles. It was like a bomb went off, my 3 interviewers immediately started going on the defensive about how clean diesel is and how there is still decades worth of usage out of it yada yada.
I didn't take the job, they are going to be in for a shock over the next 10 years if they don't get their ideas together.
That sounds a nightmare, as when I have to stand on an old fashioned internal combustion bus in England, I'm thrown around a lot because I'm such a tiny human being.
I would play a sad song for them, but there's no violin small enough in existence
It doesn't help that the street in question isn't exactly in the best shape, but yeah it's pretty extreme if you can't find a seat.
I tend to have enough reach to hold onto something well enough, but today one of the other passengers (who was riding with a folding bike and standing in the baggage area) almost fell.
What about this here electric violin. It's not particularly small, but it makes up for it by looking like the torso and head of a corpse, representing their industry.

Please tell me that isn't why you didn't take the job, though.
Quoth the Heavy, "Cry some more."
I mean, if the employer isnt what you want out of a job and doesnt line up with your values and expectations then why does it matter if he did?
the oil industry isnt going anywhere so long as we can still make it or are making anything industrial. all that wheel bearing and suspension grease, and general lubericant for both the maintenance of the bus and the manufacturing of both ICE and electric vehicles has to come from somewhere.
If you're well qualified and aren't in desperate need of work then something like that is totally worth not taking the job over.
Oh no, the poor oil industry
Considering how some people can seem to job hunt for months on end, not sucking their dick for that job actually took some chest hair
that and brains, considering the fact that you'd be laid off eventually anyways, thusly fucked in the end. These companies need to adapt or die in a corner.
Thanks man, I've had a couple of jobs now where they just wanted me for who I was, it's kind of set a standard and even though money to me right now is more crucial than ever their way of doing things just didn't sit right for me, the way they treated their employees, their office style and company ethics all sucked balls, I'd rather spend my time stressing than spend my time working for those people.
Great news for mother earth
Scary to think how much the global economy is going to shift when oil stops being essential
I mean it’s a totally valid reason, sounds like a toxic job if the interviewers started arguing with you over a simple question you asked
Ah go cry in a bag of money or something.
The UAE are already wisening up and investing in properties and companies throughout the globe, along with pushing tourism big time. Even then fossil fuel will always be needed, sure we can make electric busses but i doubt we can make electric cargo ships for a very long time.
Same over here.
I took a bus with my wife after a pause of several years and almost got whiplash from not anticipating the driver yanking the bus into max speed in .1 seconds.
And helping the lithium mines instead - which probably devastate the environment worse than oil.
Go trolleybus instead. They're aesthetic and unlice battery powered electo buses, don't smell like cheap chinese plastic
But guess what, you can recycle batteries but you can't recycle fuel after you've burnt it.
Old batteries are waste you can manage though, once you burn fuel and it gets into the air you can't process it out. Theirs also promising R&D for green batteries in the future as well.
well... i wouldn't say we can't with full confidence, it's probably a complicated procedure of recapturing the emissions and whatnot
People like to talk about how lithium mining is bad for the environment but forget the main reason we need to ditch fossil fuels is because of emissions. If lithium mining pollutes the region around the mine but results in a dramatic decrease in carbon emissions then it would still be favorable to fossils.
As the saying goes, adapt or die.
Can't wait for the day these corporations stop trying to hold back progress for the sake of money.
I see Captain Obvious is getting gainful employment with the media these days...
oh boo-fucking hoo
