BHere I wanted to post my progress of my fixing up of Pyroland. A few maps still have a way to go, and a few things are taking longer than i previously thought, but i'm excited to see i've gotten this far with it.

Beautiful work, once you get a considerable amount of upgrades done, you should try to send this to valve so it could maybe become official
Has Valve ever just added something community made besides cosmetics?
My one issue with what I'm seeing so far is the shipping container logo just being replaced with two crossed lollipops. There's a lot of potential you could do there, like making it look like a giant candy box, or something with a custom BLU logo, but the lollipops just feel kind of tacked on. Everything else looks great, though!
Do you plan on adding pyrovision textures for maps that are missing them? Would be sick if you were.
it seems kinda tacked on because it is. This project has basically made me got me into everything needed to learn this stuff, so this is all new for me. I would want to do more custom stuff, but i want these things into the game, and i dont feel my own skills are necessarily good enough to do customization. The Lollipops are from valve textures, which is why i felt it was up to par quality.
I would probably use pyrovision occasionally if the particle effects weren't so distracting.

So finished up beta versions of what i hope to have the RED and BLU team replacements. I wanted to have the two teams have something in common, things that can still retain the original shapes of the regular logos, but something that could still have a contrast within the category. I went with candy as the category, and went with the two sides of candy to be Hard candies, like lolipops and others for the RED team, and chocolate as the BLU team. Lemme know what you guys think, and feel free to give some criticism. i feel like that candy bar is a little too busy. I would suggest simplifying it along the lines of the Dalokahs bar where it has 4-6 segments along the whole bar as opposed to 45 some as it appears that design would currently have.

I like the second one a lot, but you might want to simplify the chocolate-block pattern a little. That's easy for me to say though. Trust yourself.

I think I just feel like it's too many lines with the diagonals and all. It works as far as looking like a chocolate bar, but it seems much busier than the hard candy one you did (which is terrific btw). Maybe you can match that globe pattern even closer. im hesitant to go in a connected pattern approach, as im worried if it will compromise the relationship with the original icon. Im curious to hear more input from everyone.
Yeah i'm very happy i went with the logo you all said. It converts to solid white a lot better when its used as a silhouette. Very Nice. Lemme know what you think of it's corresponding container. example 1 example 2 example 3

Intelligence Briefcases Colored Exit Signs Exit Sign RED container BLU container Updated Gorge1 Update Gorge2 Just a few finished stuff i haven't posted up here yet. I've also managed to add DegrootKeep to the list of maps done. Here's a little update, So I've been at quite a complete roadblock lately for the last few weeks. It seems reflective surfaces and lighting objects cannot be replaced in the texture system. Another issue is the replacement system only pulls from the materials location, and certain maps, like landfall, take their textures from a different location, (TeamFortress2/tf/maps/etc) leaving quite a bit of big materials unchanged. My third issue is being unable to figure out why some textures dont swap at all, such as snow blends for some odd reason. Lastly, my biggest issue is the remaining textures I needed to be replaced require very high grade of skill to create a good enough pyroland variant; and I am still quite an amateur when it comes to design. So it's gonna take me some time to get better before I'm fine with certain textures and as such may be a while before i post some new textures. I've been attempting to get into contact with someone at Valve to see if there is a solution to the first few issues mentioned. Worst case scenario, i will just submit what I have currently in the meantime. If someone knows what a good way one would send over .VPK files, lemme know. Thanks buddies

While i'm here, might as well announce im working on part 2 of fixing up pyroland. This involves making replacement weapons for pyro. It has always been very odd to me to have the rainblower, and then you turn around and see weapons like flamethrowers and fireaxes. My next project is to try and find good Pyroland versions of all the pyro's arsenal. This is a bit tricky for two reasons. One being the creative side of finding what would be consistent, and being able to work within the perimeters of how the game works (flamethrower replacement being not rainblower so it can have a festive version and war paint verison) The Second, being I've never used a 3D modeling program before. So for a week or two I've been practicing with Blender. Hope I'll get there, but expect it to take much longer, as now the learning curve is a lot bigger. Any suggestions on Pyroland versions of weapons, lemme know and we can discuss it here. So far i only have the idea of a rainbow fragment for the Sharpened Volcano Fragment. Stay Tuned.

Work In Progress of part 2 of 4. So in the second part of the overall overhaul, is fixing why incosistencies of weaponry for the pyro in pyroland. This is the WIP of the stock flamethrower. It's a watered down version of the Rainblower, that has the elements to let it be festive compatible, war paint/decorated compatible, and botkiller compatible. Needed to take a break from the project to sort out some personal stuff, and had to learn a few things to continue as well. Quick upload as this week i diddled in getting back into it some.

Gonna turn the yellow in probably the team color, and the red into some stripes or something Lemme know what you guys think, should i add more colors, should i adjust what color pallettes are where, should i do gold somewhere; Feedback welcome and we can talks about it.
Gold would be a good idea.
which parts do you feel should be gold? all of pink, or some of gray and pink?
