No shock there. Everything he said was super suspect.
Good, that sick bastard needed to go down.
"What happened to the girl??"
"She got stuck and drowned"
"We found her chopped to pieces!"
"Yeah... She drowned really hard"
About time. Glad he got sentenced to life.
justice
I'm surprised it took such a long time to pass a sentence, it's so damn obvious, even more so with the constantly changing statements.
May she rest in peace, hope the family finds closure.
Madsen's attorney has confirmed they are appealing the sentence, so there will probably be another trial in a higher court...
Well you have the right to a fair trial, sooooo...
Her being cut into pieces is admitted by Madsen, and the only part that makes sense. If you need to dump a body from a submarine, you need to chop it up. Ain't no way you're getting an entire body through a hatch.
Reminds me of that episode of Seinfeld where Kramer gets convicted of third degree murder and gets sentenced to life in an institution.
She got inside in one piece. Unless she managed to bloat extensively or for some reason the hatch constricted to half its size, she can come back out in one piece.
You need to be in the hatch yourself too to get a dead body out. That takes up the hatch-space needed for a second body.
Or rope.
I suppose that'd work too, if you can avoid getting caught on ladders and stuff. I'd personally advise chopping up, though.
Sounded more like he fucked up doing whatever he wanted to do, but then tried to cover it up and fucked up even harder.
By all accounts he probably accomplished what he wanted to do: He wanted to rape and murder her. His personal computer was literally filled with snuff porn according to the police.
He absolutely set out to rape, murder and possibly re-rape a woman. There's very little doubt about that, and he's been trying to get women into his sub alone with him several times before, this is just the first time it succeeded it seems.
Is everyone in Denmark insane? You make it sound like you've done this before or it's well known knowledge there.
Gonna have to ask other Scandinavians opinion on people from Denmark,
Have you ever tried moving a bed up to a fifth floor apartment in one piece? Same principle. You really want to disassemble when you're fighting narrow passages and gravity at once.
This isn't true, he's been alone with women in the sub before this instance. However, he was very active in trying to invite women onto his sub in the week or so preceding the murder, which was used to argue intent in the case.
Oh, I had the impression that all his other 'dates' had fallen through 'cause the ladies saw the red lights flashing with how insistant he was. Granted, this is based on like two or three testimonies I've read.
Well, Denmark's well-known for its dark humour, I'd put it up to that.
Bodies are surprisingly difficult to move, they're big and heavy, the weight distribution is weird, and they flop around.
Which is why you actually bind them properly.
Remember when he was first saying that he left her on an island because the submarine had a leak
Then he claimed that she drowned
Then she hit her head because the door fell on her head and he found her dead
Then he claimed that she died on carbon monoxide and he chopped the body to pieces to hide her?
Rigor mortis could potentially prevent one from getting them out of the hatch. Like if they, say, died with their arms stuck out in front of them, in order to block some kind of hypothetical assault.
You are aware rigor-mortise isnt instantaneous right? like if i was shot in the head standing with my arms out in front, i wouldn't die and turn into a statue. :v
"An island" being Refshaleøen where they left off - basically he was claiming that he simply let her off at a spot where she could go home. He didn't claim that it had any relation to the sinking of the submarine.
I'm gonna need a source for that because afaik that was never an explanation he gave.
There was never any "next morning". The explanation was that he was holding the hatch open, a wave perturbed the submarine, and so he dropped the hatch on her head.
Well, at least this one was fairly spot on.
Well you're not going to drop to the ground with your hands stuck to your side like Neville Longbottom in the sorcerer's stone, if your arms are stuck out while you're falling they're going to end up flopping all over the place. If old Petey is beating his meat for the next couple hours over his most recent kill, he could easily end up with an unfortunately shaped corpse that he can't get rid of without some on-the-spot butchery
