Why are these 70-80 year old people who lived through the Red Scare, the fall of the Soviet Union, and Watergate so protective of trumples? It's a hilarious lose-lose, trump is horrible for the gop election chances but kicking him out would also fuck up their chances from all the people who support trump, not the gop dropping support.
Because the Red Scare was as much about seizing and retaining power as it was about opposing the Soviet Union and nothing has changed.
Just why are they siding with an orange lunatic who in the case of Ted Cruz insulted their wife, when they might be grouped with Benedict Arnold in history books? Trump is not helping them in any way, all his appointments' decisions will be shut down by courts or reversed by the next dem president's pick, even Gorsuch might side with liberals sometimes like that time recently.

Grassley compromised and changed his amendment so that a report to Congress is only required when the investigation ends. The bill has been approved by the Judiciary Committee. Unfortunately Mitch McConnell won't hold a vote on it in the full Senate
