Starts funny. stops being funny really fucking fast. its fucked.
I feel like the reason its particularly bad is that its the sports community,
obviously Im generalizing and harassment happens everywhere, but people are tribal about sports and the younger generations are less involved in watching them, leading to some hateful baby boomer fans.
Then again, its true that most women get these comments everyday, even in game lobbies, so maybe its just people being terrible.
i think the point is that people think they can be brutal and mean online in a way they would not do face to face. how is that virtue signaling?
I just don't get the point of these videos. It feels like there's one every month trying to highlight how.. I don't know, when women are harassed online they usually go for rape jokes? Everyone already knows that the people who say stuff like this online are useless cunts, why do we keep having to rehash this and act like there's some new epidemic of people being mean on the internet? This has been a thing since day one of people having the ability to post shit online. It's an agreeable message it's just like.. Please stop making these videos lol. We are all very aware that mean people suck.
god you're so cool i wish i was as cool as you
Did you miss the part where one of them women was acrually raped, and people were saying she should get raped again?
AAlso glad to see you still havent changed in years.
I dunno dude, this seems like constant harassment to me.
that's a really low bar though, to be fair
There is a huge difference between being called shit during an online game and having your twitter feed spammed with hateful bullshit because you're a public figure. Why should someone have to spend time trawling through hundreds of comments blocking each person that insults them just so they can read their replies without being told they should be raped again?
It's a tough question that I don't know the answer to but I don't think that lying back and taking it is the right way to go about it. I don't know how helpful or unhelpful these sort of videos are but I'd rather people at least try to sort out the rancid mindset some people have on the internet than just say "trolls will be trolls" and go on with their business.
