KFC is the absolute worst.
There is nothing worse than the feeling that the universe is kicking you when you're down.
Not sure what area he lives in, but I know around where I live there's like 2 Chick Fil A's for every KFC. That I think is what is really driving away their customers, causing them to really drop down in employees, and in turn customer service. The most recent time I went to a KFC around here (which had a Chick Fil A basically across the street from it) there were literally 3 employees in the building. One working the counter register, one at the drive thru, and one in the back. The one at the counter had to go help the employee in the back when they finished taking my order.
Its the same here with hardies/carls jr. I saw one and went inside and there was no one around period. Food was fine, but like its just eerie because from the outside it looks closed. But all of them are like that, same with pizza hut restaurants. Its real odd seeing these old brands die out around here.
It's always interesting to hear the difference between KFC (or mcdonalds/burger king) in the US and over here in Europe. KFC is pretty damn good over here in the Netherlands at least.
One of the local gas station chains makes some killer fried chicken. KFC at its prime couldnt even compete
Over here, most people eat either chik-fil-A or zaxbys. Id eat either more often but fuck chik-fil-A charges 12 bucks for their bigger chicken sandwiches, and zaxbys can get pricy unless you stick with the sandwich meals. Also zaxbys charging you for every sauce cup is like a kick in the dick. .25 per cup of sauce is kinda stupid.
I like KFC, but their restaurants nearby always seems to be almost empty. I think KFC just fails to appeal to the young generations and that's why it's doing poorly. Burger King and Subway are having the same issue. Fastfood is very much a kids/student kind of thing, and they're failing to reach that audience. The only fastfood business that does really well here is McDonalds, and that's because they're kind of built their whole brand on appealing to those markets.
KFC in Canada as well. I enjoy it.
Have only eaten at KFC once since I moved to my current state. It was terrible and gave me a stomachache. Later I heard from my brother than his friend claims he saw roaches in the same KFC. With how unsanitary everything was when I went, I can believe it.
Also cost/benefit, McDonalds is absurdly cheap and the food isn't really that bad. Whereas at a lot of other restaurants you pay more for something that isn't really much better (if better at all.)
I stopped going to KFC after they banned me getting a double down with grilled not crispy chicken too often. They didn't ban me, just took that option from the menu which I take as a personal offence.
Northeast US, and KFC's have gone to absolute shit.
Every time I go to KFC I'm disappointed. I always go in expecting some crispy fried chicken and leave with some soggy bullshit.
I find it weird that an american franchise is doing so badly in the US. KFC here in Portugal is almost always packed up to the brim. Not as much as McD's, but its McDonalds, and McD's doesn't messes around, what with 4 restaurants within less than 10km from each other and they are always full. Same for Burger King. You got those 4 McD's and a whole lot of other franchises, and yet it still gets a good bit of people. PizzaHut ALWAYS has a waiting line. Thank god its not a slow line though. And you know what? All of them are pretty good. Never really had any problem with any of those, other than McD's not getting my orders right in terms of sauces, which isn't much of a problem.
KFC used to be good where I live, but three years ago they suddenly started dropping off in quality big time. A lot of fast food places in central Kansas suck nowadays, apparently, or at least the ones my family were able to get fairly consistent meals from before. But the local Casey's in my town can serve up a damn good 'boat' of fried popcorn chicken and potato wedges.
Depends on where you live or which kfc you go to in the Netherlands then I guess, since the ones I've visited were always packed full.
I always try to give KFC the benefit of doubt but I always leave it disappointed and wondering why I keep letting it get me. There's just so many better options for chicken these days. This video in related videos sums it up well. https://youtu.be/d1eaQrxA6ZE
The KFC in my town does quite well as it often has queues going all the way to the door from one side of the building to the other. My town has what feels like a million takeaway places though so I tend to order from other better fried chicken places that offer larger higher quality portions for the same price with far more flavour.
I live in Kentucky and every KFC is still absolutely disgusting. Not only can an American company not keep a quality standard in their own country, they can't even keep a quality standard in their own founding state. A few years ago they even closed their test kitchen where they would put out new menu items before they went national. I've even visited the first KFC years ago which is part museum part restaurant and it was still really depressing, there wasn't a soul there except our school tour and the staff, and no we didn't reserve it for the time.
Some of KFC's stuff is alright. Them and arbys have sadly gone downhill the past few years.
"You guys are getting beat by Taco Cabana!" is finger-lickin' gold.
Was wondering when I'd see this video, I remember I first saw it in this video where it talks about how it rips off it's style entirely from another video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZDtJ7bte_zg Can be seen @ around 4:00.
I have a different perspective, I'm Australian so i don't know what it's like overseas. Personally I think KFC is boring and low quality. Their menu hasn't changed for years, you can get better fried chicken elsewhere. Korean fried chicken is pretty popular here. As for the competing brands, while none of them are particularly great imo, they usually do something new or have good variety. Maccas is kind of the staple it's not great but it's decent fast food, Hungry Jacks does the best burgers as per their slogan and Red Rooster doesn't exist anymore/is even worse than KFC for quailty/value. KFC burgers are just sad, it's just a chicken piece stuffed in buns with sad looking mayo and lettuce.
bruh if you got a zaxbys get zaxbys
I haven't had it in years, but I remember loving their biscuits. I have no doubt that they are shit though. Poor guy : (
That's kind of interesting, I've found KFC and Maccas (McDonalds) to be better than Hungry Jacks (Aus Burger King) where I am. Pretty much bogan cuisine.
My town has a bunch of chicken places and none of them beat KFCs hot wings or fillets. Chicken on the bone is shit and can fuck off.
Last time when I had KFC was when they had that 5$ box deal, which was pretty good frankly. Never had any huge issues. That being said, my only close-by Hardee's just closed, which is a shame because I never got to try their 5$ meals. But I'll be damned if their chicken tenders weren't good.
