Enormous news, hopefully North Korea are sincere with this and will work towards bettering their country step by step.
History right here, everyone. Never thought I'd see this happen in my lifetime.
This is incredible news. Really hope if they can open up the border and trade some more it will pull NK out of the pit they have put themselves in. Hopefully various warmongers around the world (and indeed inside NK) won't ruin this golden opportunity.
As much as I hate to say it North Korea has a history of smoothing their rhetoric in exchange for lifting of sanctions and then renaging on that, even though this is a major symbolic step it doesn't give much hope for the behaviour of NK in the future
This step however, can't just be undone like other things they may have done, without a straight declaration of war.
Never thought I'd ever get to see this. Can only hope this is just the first step to a brighter future for both sides.
Wow, never thought I would see the day. It's honestly surprising this sudden opening of dialog and diplomacy. It's not that long ago that there was constant threats and nuke tests. This is all happening very fast.
Even if this is a shallow gesture, it's still good in the context of us being under the Trump administration, since Trump can't launch pre-emptive attacks without approval from Congress since we aren't "at war".
I think those korean families left alive after the war but split apart must be overjoyed that there is a chance they could see their own family, before they die
That's great news! I wonder how the rest of the world's governments will react to this and if we will finally be able to move the doomsday clock back a little thanks to this.
shit's still gonna be miserable in NK
Atleast the (winter) olympics are good for something
Yep, that's a given. The list of things required to change in order for the people in NK to see any improvements to their life is very long.
However, a formal end to the war was the first point on that list.

This is really interesting
wow that design doesn't look as nice in real life
who killed kim jong-nam
Un'll fix it
Now it will be even easier as the two merge
i just hope this leads to better lives for people in the north
Amazing to see some forward momentum in my life-time.
If NK sticks to the plan, it's because they have a nuclear deterrent and no longer feel like they have to be isolationist to avoid being toppled. Maybe we'll actually see some progress.
:10bucks: this'll backfire and unrelieved tensions from the peace process break into a hot war.
It feels kinda wrong to say this, but that thumbnail is kinda adorable.
They've already said they're willing to give up their nuclear armaments, even without the U.S. having to withdraw troops which has always been one of the biggest conditions. That doesn't work with what you're thinking at all.
Kim Jung doesn't look chill in that picture at all, hes gripping that table like he's about to fucking book it
Is it me or does that photo look slightly shopped? like the lighting hits them weirdly, look at the back of Kim's head. (I'm not doubting it one bit though)
he is confirmed to have a daughter
There's videos of them doing it, the photo is probably prettied up a bit though
That table looks a bit longer than 2018 mm.
I sure hope that the peace lasts and that the region can stabilize well.
Unbelievable. More than sixty years and it looks like the Korean War is almost over.
