The long awaited third game in the Uncharted Without Good Dialogue And Drake Is A Teenage Girl That Keeps Getting Beat Up trilogy.
Tomb Raider Reboot But This Time She's In The Jungle
I enjoy the games for what they are, but there's always the feeling that they never go far enough with anything remotely unique. Really not worth the money unless it's at a heavy price cut.
Looks pretty shite, not a single thing in that video piqued my interest.
When did Lara become the Predator?
I miss old Tomb Raider when Lara was kinda cheeky and sarcastic and it was all just fun light hearted adventures. These new reboot games, and to a lesser extent the previous reboots take themselves too seriously.
After the first 5 minutes of the reboot when she was like 'oh noo, I killed one man, what have i become?!' and now she's hunting men for sport

Sweet box art tbh
Will it completely fall apart at the end like Rise did? Seriously that entire final section is just the first game's finale copy and pasted but without the storm and then you fight a boss who punches you then somehow steals literally all of your weapons in half a second
All of this grim-dark aesthetic is getting really tiresome.
Given that the game is called "Shadow of the Tomb Raider" I choose to believe that the temple in this box art isn't far away, and she's actually several hundred feet tall.
I never understood how by the end of the first game, Lara was a total badass, dual wielding pistols and shit, in classic Tomb Raider fashion, yet in the second game, there was no dual wielding whatsoever, and she seemed only slightly more experienced than when she started. Hopefully they bring back some more classic Tomb Raider stuff this time around. I love shooting bows in games, but Lara Croft is not an archer.
More like a shadow of the former tomb raider hurr.
Double pistols and shorts by at least the end of the game or riot.
This is always something that happens in games
you learn all this insane shit and then because gameplay it's all fucking gone lmao
Personally, I don't consider the Tomb Raider games that came after the original trilogy to be "Tomb Raider."
They're just so notably different. The first reboot isn't terrible about it, they at least keep Lara's character more or less the same.
But this new reboot completely changes Lara to the point that I personally feel they should have given an entirely new name. They're just so different from the original trilogy.
so eidos is developing this one and not crystal dynamics?
also what's up with lara STILL using ice picks, especially when now she's climbing rocks and not ice. that's not how that works.
Lara is a teenager in these games?
Oh boy....
giiiiirl its too late to start regretting killing people jfc
I can't wait to experience all of the and exciting ways a young, nubile Lara Croft gets horribly maimed, each tantalizing goring able to be repeated ad nauseum for my entertainment.
She's actually 21, I didn't do any research before I made that post.
Eh, I liked the (second) reboot trilogy enough so far. They did tone down the "punching bag" aspects of Lara in Rise. I'm excited enough for this one.
Oh look it's another episode of the most generic rendition of Lara Croft being a fucking genius at literally everything including but not limited to climbing, gymnastics, archery, marksmanship, linguistics, mechanical engineering, weapons engineering, many different types of explosives and firearms, survival in hostile environments, medicine, trapping, animal and human anatomy...
I bet the game will start out like it has a modicum of respect for the idea of taking things slow and may even have a really intriguing first level that's actually about raiding a tomb where Lara starts out with a full inventory of equipment and then trip on her ass and lose it all and then talk to herself about how she's a ~survivor~ and proceed to eat more shit than Wales can produce sheep manure in a year but always without a tinge of serious injury and without any cuts ever getting infected despite trekking around in a humid shithole and being covered in mud 24/7.
I bet the game will pretend to be slow and ponderous for the first hour and then Lara will find an AK-47 or some other easily recognizable assault rifle and proceed to turn into a fucking terminator who mows down armies of well trained and well equipped goons but she'll still pretend it's dramatic and important when she kills people every time a cutscene demands it.
I thought I quite liked the reboot games until recently when I went back and started playing originals again (most of the way into 2 at the moment) and besides getting used to the controls, they're so much better than anything the new games are offering story and atmosphere wise.
Tomb Raider 1 still spooks me out, I completely forgot about the flesh clone part in Atlantis until I got to it again.

BUT DOES SHE RAID SOME TOMBS FOR REAL THIS TIME?
She was raiding quite a lot of tombs in the last game, so yeah?
How can you see the game looking pretty shite when it's just a CGI trailer?
That's my main issue with these game, the first one worked fine as kind of an origin story of Lara becoming the "Tomb Raider" but then with the second game it feels like you're back to square one and it's again an origin story of her becoming the Tomb Raider and it looks like they're doing the exact same thing again.
Unfortunately you're right.

I was hoping that the whole "Lara causes the apocalypse" thing would lead to an interesting plot, but no, same thing as the last two games. Ugh.

We already fucking experienced that, twice.
