I was able to get my hands on a certain model from GTA IV, that being the fat biker, I wanted to make it into a playermodel and also for another project, but the format of the file don't allow me to, the formats being: .WDR .WTD .WBS .WFT .MESH .SKEL .ODD .WDD
If someone was able to convert the model into any of these formats (armature included) I'd be very grateful: .SMD .OBJ .DAE .FBX (in order from most preferred).
The textures should also be there, but were they not I'm sure I could get those out anyways.
THE FILES:
.WDR .WTD .WBS .WFT
.MESH .SKEL .ODD .WDD
Btw the bounty is 100 coins, half of what you need to become gold member.
If you have that game then use OpenIV http://openiv.com/. It should be albe to extract models and textures.
BTW I manage out to get textures only. Models are unknown format for me. Nothing in binary form.
That's how I got the second one out, maybe I missed an option, will try to do that.
If you have 3ds max 2012, you can use GIMS IV, Evo IV, or OpenFormats I/O Importer to import the ODD/ODR with proper weights, then export them to FBX.
Older, superseded by Evo IV
GIMS IV
[IV,EFLC|REL] GIMS Evo IV
[3DSMAX|REL] OpenIV openFormats I/O
Other versions of 3ds max may or may not work properly; get the trial for 3ds max 2012.
Do not ask how but I almost killed my computer downloading a virus trying to get a trial version of 3ds max 2012, I know I could do it by myself but I'd still prefer if someone more experienced did it for me.
I will still try the other methods, and based on which one worked the best will be the accepted answer.
Was able to get the mesh and textures, but not the skeleton (at least not properly, the weights seem screwed up + its rotated) There's multiple components of the biker in there, wasn't sure if you wanted all of them : biker
If this is helpful, you can keep your coins, I don't need them. GIMS Evo IV I believe is discontinued and doesn't work for player models. GIMS IV still works on MAX 2017 but is finicky (I used this to export the model). I don't know about OFIO, the last I remember of it was it couldn't export player/ped models.
That's the closest I'll ever get, thanks a lot, if I really am passionate about it in the future I will make the bones and weight paint myself, I'll keep the post up in the air in case there's an even better answer.
