According to the sources, the reason why they got away with a low sentence/sexual abuse instead of rape is due to "Under Spanish law, the charge of sexual abuse differs from rape in that it does not involve violence or intimidation.
But senior politicians and human rights groups questioned whether a prolonged sexual assault involving intercourse by five men could be anything but intimidation or rape." (BBC). Then, article continues "According to the police report, the victim maintained a "passive or neutral" attitude throughout the scene, keeping her eyes closed at all times. Her phone was then stolen." (BBC).

Yesterday was madness both in real life and in internet. Me and my friends were full of rage due this and at late evening-night there have been demostrations across Spain.

Seriously, we got their full chats in Whatsapp where they literally said they wanted to rape the first girl they came across and the post incident ones with their comments to the girl as "sleeping beauty", the fucking sick video of them recorded of the full incident ( which somehow got leaked and for more infamy, it became the most watched "porn" video in a month ), the drugs and the fact that two of them are a policeman and a military policeman in training ( which the last thing I heard they were only suspended but not really kicked out ). And also they stole and destroyed the victim's phone in order to avoid her to call for help, while leaving her in a building entrance fully naked. And these scums have raped other women that year as well with the same methods and recordings.

And then not only the entire media portrayed her as "she deserved it for getting drunk with strangers and being sexually active" but also being questioned as well in the courts due returning to have sex eventually "because there's no way a raped woman should do that ever again" and even for "sitting sexually" during the views.

But the drop that filled the glass was the judges deliberately dropping the rape sentence and changing it to mere sexual abuse "because she didn't resist" and ignoring all the episodes of violence, theft, intimidation and more.

AND THEN ONE OF THE THREE JUDGES GOES AND SAYS THEY ARE INNOCENT, paving the way for the defense to request the absolution.

The rage doesn't come because they only are getting 9 years of prision ( which they will get less due good behaviour, if not directly walk free thanks to their lawyers ), but the fact that basically if you go and rape ( and kill ) someone, you will barely touch prision, but god help you if you are arrested in a demostration and being accused of terrorism.

This is making every women afraid, and rightly so because this is sending a terrible message: If you resist, you will get killed and the rapist go free without any
consequences. If you not and survive and report it to the police, EVERYBODY will not believe you and make you the responsible of your situation. Why bother to report then?

As was reading this morning, both the accusation and several feminist / human rights NGOs have placed a reclamation so not only they walk free, but their sentences can be switched back to rape and getting a bigger punishment.

But still, this is totally fucked up.

Note: the problem isn't our law not having a big punishment for this, but our judges. It isn't our laws but those who are supposed to apply them, that's one of the root problems of our country.

And then there are these trolls / pro-men people continue saying that "men will not longer able to date without a formal consent document because everything would be rape" and "a single word is enough to make her send you into prision". Those people makes us desire we could break chairs into their heads.

You're right about it, Felix. 

There's a ton of fucked up stuff going on. From the rapists themselves to the acting of mass media and the judges. Everything is going against the victim and what she has been through. Plus, some of the Defendent arguments are "Their defence lawyers claimed the woman had consented and had let one of the men kiss her. They also argued that 96 seconds of video footage from the men’s phones – showing the woman immobile and with her eyes shut during the attack – was proof of consent."  is fucking baffling.  
At least the people of Spain and the world are reacting. Marches, protests and a sense of empathy is rapidly brewing around the world. Then you have the "pro-men/troll" problem lying around, but that's an issue which requires it own solution. But it always pop-up when something like this happens.
