Trying to track down the name of a fantasy novel series I read as a kid.

It has been bugging me for ages and I was hoping someone might be able to name the series if I tried to describe it.
So when I was about 11 or 12, at my primary school we had a single shelf at the back of the library that was supposed to be for "older" readers (usually meaning year 7, the final year of primary school). There was a series I enjoyed reading on that shelf made up of at least three books, and probably more.
The rough plot of each book was that there was a mountain. In the mountain there were many caves and sometimes, if you got lost in those caves you would end up somewhere else. The somewhere else I think was parallel universes though it could also have been time travel. The story that I remember had a young boy end up in a different world/time only to end up being declared a slave (It think? It had something to do with slavery). The story then had to boy trying to get back to the mountain so he could find his way home or something.
Another book I think had a girl (?) from a world where there was no magic ending up in one where there was some magic (not a lot? not flash Harry Potter stuff at least).
The books would have been about 300 pages long each and published in the late 1990s or early 2000s.
A quick search about the mountain one, I think I found two of them?
"Rowan of Rin" and "Red Moon and Black Mountain"
Not entirely sure on the first one though, but they're both series of some kind!
Nah, it's not those.
Do you remember any of the character names?
Nope, we're talking about something nearly 15 years ago when I was 11 or so.
Anyone else? Anyone want five shiny coins?
Any more info at all?
Did the characters have any pets? Family members, friends? Was it based in a particular country or time frame?
Pendragon: Journal of an Adventure through Time and Space
Thats the book series. Good read.
Sorry, that's not it.
The Everworld Series?
the journey to find the way
I've been doing some digging and have come up with The Ancient One.
Published in '92.
Book 2 in a series of 3.
304 pages.
Girl travels back in time to fantasy land and must get back home.
From what I can tell, there may also a be mountain, but I can't find a descriptive enough synopsis to confirm. There's 100% a crater. It may be a mountain in fantasy land.
