It's so weird as someone who doesn't play many KOEI games to buy Nioh on pc and get all the dlc bundled essentially for free, yet see them turn around and do this with one of their core franchises.

I personally know people willing to defend this sort of shit as well as other cancerous growths in the industry like the sorry state of the steam library or rampant use of lootboxes by invoking the invisible hand of the free market.

It's times like this that remind me, that despite being interested in picking up Dynasty Warriors 8 or somesuch, i'm glad i've not touched the series since 4 given how money-grubbing Tecmo Koei have gotten in the past decade+

Koei has been especially retarded with their strategy games recently. For years they just stopped releasing them on PC in the west and just released the inferior console ports instead despite most of the western strategy game market being on PC. Romance of the Three Kingdoms XII got a boxed western release for PC and a digital release on Gamersgate but is for some reason not released on Steam despite the Chinese and Japanese version being on there and now that they finally are translating and releasing their latest strategy games in English on Seam they just sell them for 59.99 and rarely put them on sale and never lower the price. Kinda shooting themselves in the foot since the Koei strategy games has a similar foxus to Paradoxs Grand Strategy games yet are simpler and has a much better presentation.
