http://www.indiewire.com/2018/04/family-guy-emmys-series-predicted-kevin-spacey-harvey-weinstein-1201957082/ “Family Guy” has often turned to current events to promote itself during Emmys season. The Fox series’ 2016 campaign portrayed Peter Griffin as Donald Trump and included the caption: “As long as we’re voting for dumb loudmouths, can I get an Emmy?” The 2017 campaign took on “fake news,” turning Peter into Kellyanne Conway and boasting, “Alternative Facts: We are the smartest comedy on television.” This year, “Family Guy” is taking on sexual harassment and abuse. Fox’s 2018 “Family Guy” screeners once again feature Peter on the cover, but this time the show makes a bold proclamation. “We predicted Kevin Spacey and Harvey Weisntein. Open DVD to see who’s next,” the cover reads, with Peter standing in front of the Hollywood sign. According to Deadline, the mailer opens up to reveal a mirror inside the sleeve, turning the Emmy voter into a suspect. The mailer references a gag from a 2005 “Family Guy” episode in Season 4. Stewie runs through a shopping mall naked and yells, “Help! I’ve escaped from Kevin Spacey’s basement!” Series creator Seth MacFarlane, meanwhile, joked about Weinstein while announcing an Oscar with Emma Stone in 2013. As the pair were reading the names for the best supporting actress category, McFarlane said, “Congratulations, you five ladies no longer have to pretend to be attracted to Harvey Weinstein.” Both jokes resurfaced in the fall after Spacey and Weinstein were accused of sexual harassment and abuse. Despite “Family Guy’s” headline-making campaigns for the Emmys, the show has still never won the Outstanding Animated Program trophy, despite four nominations in the category. The show earned an Outstanding Comedy Series nomination in 2009 but lost to “30 Rock.” MacFarlane has won numerous Emmys for Outstanding Character Voice-Over Performance, most recently in 2017. It's funny Family Guy runs for the Emmys, but they got nominated for outstanding animated program four times wow
If it's the case of prediction, why doesn't deus ex win like every award ever?
How about they try to earn an Emmy by being funny. Or by having animation that's not terrible.
Yeah but they didn't ask for it.
Family guy needs to fuck off and die
This part makes me very happy
MGS2 has some pretty good chances too
Eugh
I like to put family guy on in the background when I'm folding laundry or doing other chores
Why would you punish yourself by doing a chore while you do other chores
Predicted? More like they're part of show biz and just teased an open secret.
Well, i mean. it ain't wrong. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KCNvREKTnQc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M4dHf6jnwaU
this is kind of horrible tbh
This reminds me I have to make an automated bot that creates YouTube videos that call out random celebrities for various common controversy topics.
I knew about the bad thing and made jokes about it before they stopped it give me an award I knew a gay person was gay and publicly called them gay even though they weren't open about it yet give me an award
I'd click these videos but I'm worried that my recommended videos will turn into the insane conspiracy shit that revolves around The Simpsons.

the best part about the first one is that it's not even a coincidence it was a reference to his 2000 campaign
my cat could have predicted weinstein being a rapist
It's funny because 30 Rock predicted Weinstein *and* Cosby.
Feels kinda shitty when you think they knew about it for years and didn't do shit and are now using this as a means of propping up their shitty show for awards.
There wasn't much (if anything) they could have done, but using it to prop up the show is completely tasteless.
Ha ha look we knew about the horribly abusive rapist and made jokes about it instead of breaking the chain of abuse by actually speaking up about it or saying we would show support to the victims. By saying it was a prediction, rather than an informed tease at what they knew was true, they're literally demonstrating how the entire industry is not only going to pretend it has clean hands, but is also going to just exploit the situation with zero regard for the victims. Even if they weren't aware - which they were - who in their right mind would consider this a smart thing to do? This would only be okay if there was something like a scene where peter looks directly into the camera and said "Harvey Winestein is an abusive hollywood executive who injures women. He will injure you if you get near him."
