https://www.nbcnews.com/health/health-care/new-trump-teen-pregnancy-approach-stresses-abstinence-n869141 From the country that used to be one of the world leaders in teen pregnancy rates, I look forward to the US taking up our legacy
Let's see how that works Texas has highest rate of repeat teen pregnancy in the US. Texas has a hardon for abstinence only education Working as intended I see.
Good luck stopping teenagers from getting it on, its definitely worked extremely well in the past
Under George W's abstinence-only education, the teen pregnancy rate was as high as it was in the 1950s -- but in the 50s, those teen mothers were married. Obama's presidency saw abstinence-only thrown out and replaced with proper sex ed, and the teen pregnancy rate has been steadily going down. Look forward to it breaking past 1950s levels under Herr Drumpf. And remember that this is paired with a crusade against abortion. It really makes you think about the party of wholesome Christian American family values.
That's the thing, teen pregnancy IS a part of Christian values. It's just following the trend of less reproductive rights for women.
Republicans suck
That's big coming from Trump.
He just doesn't want anyone to steal his thunder. After all, his Vietnam was running around boinking people left-and-right while not trying to catch an STD IIRC.
When will Pornhub start lobbying?
No, you see, Texas is just doing it wrong. Abstinence-only sex ed can totally work, just you wait, we'll show 'em bla bla bla.
Funny coming from the administration of the man who had an affair with a pornstar he paid, and allegedly did stuff with hookers in Russia.
PornHub doing anything past porn would be great they could make a better YouTube and fix sex education in our country besides, they plowed Boston that one time
Don't you see? By pushing a sex education scheme that doesn't work and pushing hard against abortion rights they're making thousands of new customers to save all the industries those DAMN MILLENIALS have been killing by selfishly not having the money to buy anything with. MAGA one new customer at a time!
Oh joy, we're back here again. Now I'm as far from sexually active as one can get, but back in school even I could see this was a waste of time that no one actually listened to, not the least of why was because it was a load of bull. What's next, a D.A.R.E. resurgence?
I think Trump is a pretty good motivation to not have sex.
They are have The Pornhub Sexual Wellness Center
Raise live babies, turn em into dead soldiers (or slave labor in a penitentiary)
Hey now, don't be like that. Slave labour isn't restricted to penitentiaries anymore.
It's all fun to laugh at how silly it seems, but please remember how harmful abstinence only sex ed can be to those who have suffered sexual abuse. People that are confused, vulnerable and already having various difficulties being told they are worthless and no longer capable of being loved due to something that wasn't even their fault. Fuck Republicans, they don't care about anyone, they care about their precious hollow ideals, despite any damage it objectively causes.
That's a laugh. They have no ideals that they wouldn't readily throw away the second it benefits them. They're scoundrels.
Just give out free condoms like they used to do at the nurses office in my school.
But our innocent little 16 year old angels should never have to be exposed to such scandalous things!
I'm sorry what? are you suggesting we.... ENCOURAGE SIN?????????
I don't think this is for Catholics, more for Baptists and other Protestant sects, I think Catholics lean more democrat. Trump is the embodiment of the seven deadly sins, the fact partisanship is so bad religious folks will vote for a man who doesn't care one iota about the religion's ideals is sad.
More genius policy from the man who can't drink water like an adult https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/238785/7787f8e2-9a1a-4d85-9314-5ab1f4570e66/image.png
Congress must quickly vote to pass the HAVE U TRIED NOT HAVING SEX LOL Act
It was a fun dig, not a serious argument. I don't see much point in recycling the same talking points as the 10 people above me; it seems like everyone in the thread already agrees that abstinence-only is ineffective, so I'm not gonna get up on my soapbox. Meanwhile, it is quite fun to see that the mastermind behind this has not mastered skills available to the average 3 year old.
Except contemporary American Christian values also include chastity until marriage and not doing it until they're 18+ (and married). Soooo, there's either hypocrisy or deception at the heart of the American Christian psyche, but that was pretty obvious already.
The hell does that happen? Surely they must figure out they're not in a position to have a kid the first time it happens?
'Alright, I fucked up last time by not pulling out well before I finished. That was definitely the problem and we're both horny, so let's get it on! I'll be more careful this time.'
