Not entirely sure why they mention the Inquisition; the article is 98% about its colonial empire and the conquistadors in the Americas.
Nobody expects the spanish inquisition!
You'd think they might want to focus more on the franco era and their recent history than forcus on the mideval bits. I mean nobody is exactly holding England responsible for the countless millions killed by their protestant/catholic purges.

The North remembers.
I wish Spain and Turkey would realize people aren't taught these things to shit on them, they're taught these things to prevent history from repeating.
What Spain is saying is that history you fear repeating is wrongly recorded in the first place.
Not to dismiss colonial atrocities wholesale but the stories of colonial excess of violence by the Spanish tend to come from histories written by political rivals to Spain, particularly by England.
Again this is not to say that the Spanish colonial legacy isn't stained with gallons of blood, just that the "black legend" is a real historiographical phenomenon.
Though I don't like the tone of the campaign as presented by the article - weird national pride talk gives me pause.
Yea, sure. You can wait seated because ( sadly ) that's not going to happen as long as there's no a radical change at our politics: the two big parties and the 4th one are agaisnt any kind of revisionism, let alot admit the crimes within the Dictatorship ( or even just recognize as so ).
Common people knows this, our politicians prefers to distort it into a big nationalistic propaganda, especially since we are getting lately more international focus.
Is strange I haven't read about this neither in the media or in internet ( apparently this project born in late january ), but looking in their website about their founders, the list contains several dukes, other elements of the nobility and some businessmen which all of them supports the current ( far- ) right wing government ( no surprises ). If this isn't enough, looking at the Comunications page it shows two of the newspapers who reported on their creation: ABC and La Razon, far-right newspapers.
Just another day in Spain trying to fight back "the comunist propaganda and lies about how big our nation actually is". Fuck patriots, they are the first ones responsible of all of this. They adore so much our flag that for them is their second flag being waved in their political events so if you are wearing / having / hanging the flag while there's not an international sport event around is going to get you being classified as "facha" - Nazi, and rightly so. They managed to make ourselves unconfortable seeing our own flag, and is not wonder about why there are people who wants to change it ( and when you learn the actual one was "restored" by Franco to replace the "hideous" red, yellow and purple flag of the republic, it makes even more sense ).
Uh no Pizzarro and Cortez were brutal and most of the events that were described probably did happen because the U.S.A did the exact same brutal enslavement and mutilation of limbs for profit shit in the Philippines while the Brits and dutch did the same in india. It happened Spain. You murdered half the worlds population without even trying, now get over it.
Hey, Spain? Rermember this? Because we do.
Kinda few hundreds years late buddy. And why this group instead just focus defending from last century Spain where this Catalan Nationalism factors plays more.
