• Can we get an updated Bow? Compound Bow perhaps or Steel tipped Arrows?

I LOVE the bow, but its so limited in its range and speed, I really would love to see an upgraded bow or allow us to make Steel tipped Bladed arrows. Usually depending on what I am doing, if Farming barrels and Ores, i'll equip a Hazmat suit, Bow, and a Pump Shottie. This way I can silently kill something from range with low resource cost and handle another player popping out on me. If I die no big deal I lost a shotgun only. I would really like an Updated bow, as a Bow user, i could totally see an updated bow being awesome for a multitude of scenarios and fun. http://g04.a.alicdn.com/kf/HTB1HsGVIVXXXXa_aXXXq6xXFXXX9/The-Dream-bow-Camo-color-hunting-compound-bow-bow-and-arrow-archery-set-China-Archery-Black.jpg https://ae01.alicdn.com/kf/HTB1s5sFJFXXXXamXFXXq6xXFXXXD/6pcs-a-lot-Steel-Broadheads-100-Grain-Arrow-Heads-Tips-Arrow-Points-Archery-Hunting.jpg
pre-High Tier weapon, completely agree, needs to be researched, good range, good drawing speed, silent weapon, cons would be cost and... honestly I can't think of any cons, apart from not being able to use it against multiple enemies. Maybe not so easy to get arrows?
It would be amazing, and think of the crazy skins!
its called a crossbow...
I use a bow in real life a Cross bow is nothing like it, and personally I hate the crossbow
Fully support this!
low cost arrows could break more often. Hunting arrows could be found in crates, that arrow would be able to survive longer than a crafted arrow, and do more damage,
Creating a new high-tier bow would demolish the crossbow. The crossbow is the upgraded version of the bow. If you add a better version of the bow, the crossbow will become useless. The bow has a better reload time, will probably do more damage and maybe have less range. A new high-tier bow will overule the crossbow.
only viable way i could see this work is if it had a longer reload time than the crossbow but wayy more accurate and has way less drop thus giving it a viable early game long range weapon.
Even if it replaces the crossbow, what of it? You'd need at least T2 to make one so a good part of the game you'd already have used the bow/crossbow. A bit of differentiation between those three would help, though: bow: cheap, immediately available, good range. Add half damage against 25% armor and no pen at 50% (ort chance to not do damage, as in the tip hitting a buckle or something) crossbow: more damage (like 75 per shot), half damage starting at 50% armor (or no pen), slower to cock again, easier to aim, lower range compound: less damage then the crossbow, half damage at 35% armor, good fire rate and range, superb precision. Better yet, beside the compound bow, also differentiate the crossbows: hand cocked and mechanical cocking aid.
my opinion on it would be that this bow would then not need new arrows, if its got better range, accuracy and possibly more dmg (Power of bow) then that would be enough. Maybe if it cost as much as a cheap gun e.g. Semi-Automatic Pistol then steel plated arrows would be a good option but only compatible with the compound bow, I think steel capped arrows on a crossbow would be way to op
I think the best way to go about having a compound bow in the game is having uncraftable and found only if green, elite, bradley, heli and airdrops or some combination of those crates. It will almost always break any current arrows upon impact. But the new arrows (I'm guessing have a metal shaft) constructed fully from metal fragment will have a higher "survival/retrieval" rate. Having the compound uncraftable (like the M92) will give the game a little more balance as far as the tier of arrow based weapons go as this will basically be a powerhouse of a weapons just below a gun. And I would hope that the new arrows would result in a decent amount of bleeding. Shooting from the compound should also have a chance of resulting in a through and through. Another thing they should add to the game is pulling any arrow out before X time will result in heavy bleeding, making the use of bandages important again.
Could we have an invisibility cloak instead? Bases could use scanners to counter the rogues..
unless they make it a tier3 item...
