Pretty cool! Wasn't Bezos basically funding BO out of his own pocket?
Set a fire under Musk and he'll get us to Mars even sooner
The billionaires are escaping to Mars once they no longer need any human workers to build their corporate empires.
Blue Origin and SpaceX are in different markets right now until Blue gets New Glenn up and going. The rocket launched in the OP just pops up into "space" and comes back down for tourism. Blue will get on SpaceX tail eventually, but not yet.
I think their competition is more like virgin galatic
Oh man all these billionaire's just building rockets. Virginia galactic is more like a rocket plane though isn't it.
Virgin launches little rockets from planes. Their most known is their space plane for tourism but they are also building a little rocket to launch cargo into space that is fired off the wing of a 747 https://virginorbit.com Theres a few other space startups making strides as well, like Rocket Lab
Yeap. Blue Origin may not do as much as SpaceX right now, but their supply of money is quite significant. Jeff Bezos has a networth of almost $130 billion now. But such aspirations don't come cheap. In fact, Bezos anticipates spending upward of $2.5 billion to complete development of his latest rocket, dubbed New Glenn. To fund this work, Bezos is willing to sell $1 billion worth of Amazon stock per year -- and seems to be saying he'll keep doing these sales every year, for the foreseeable future, until the job is done. https://www.fool.com/investing/2017/04/23/how-amazon-ceo-jeff-bezos-is-funding-blue-origin.aspx
