I had a pretty great time with this game. It's too bad that I haven't been been able to progress any further (potentially due to possibly fucking up one of the quests), and evidently I haven't even gotten that far into the game despite having put 48 hours into it.
20-30 minutes
Ur-Dragon should not be taking anyone 20-30 minutes
The game will let you fail lots of stuff without ending the game, just get in there and ride all the monsters.
Yeah, but I heard that some of the quests fail automatically if you certain other quests, and some of these quests unlock areas that I want to be able to go through.
Also, [sp]I got to the Pawn Guild in Gran Soren, but somehow I still don't have access to the Everfall even after talking to the guy that's supposed to unlock the door that leads to that area.[/sp]
A. Set the marker to that quest
B. Talk to Barnaby, twice; might wanna talk to the blacksmith as well
C. Before doing that make sure you done any other quests you think are important
Holy focused bolt is absolutely disgusting and is the only reason I switched from the popular assassin archery build to magic.
Sequel when!
Probably never. Dragon's Dogma Online isn't coming west and I don't think they want to bother making a full sequel when they have an active MMO and the first game didn't achieve more than a relatively small dedicated fanbase compared to Capcom's other projects.
It's a shame, because most of what capcom usually puts out is just plain bland or outright shit. They're drowning in everything else in the west and DD made a small dent in that voluntary obscurity.
You mean the everfall as endgame content? You need to kill the dragon
He's talking about a quest that gets triggered early in the game when you first reach Gran Soren.
I think I'm a ways into the game last time I left off (I killed a bird at the top of a tower) but honestly I find everything in the game to be this massive bullet sponge. Mystic Knight with every weapon I'm using fully upgraded, using skills like the upgraded version of magic cannon. I'm rolling with a diverse party, so I dunno what my problem is. I use elemental weaknesses very often
You need to target weak spots. Shooting an enemy in the head or cutting off monster parts greatly reduces their resistance to your attacks. It's easiest to see with Saurians who can tank a lot of damage unless you rip their tail off, then they get torn to pieces.
Also Magick Cannon and Great Cannon do split damage (physical and whatever elements your weapon does) so it might not be effective if the enemy resists your elemental type. The damage also depends on the weapon you use to 'fire' the cannon, you need high magic and a strong physical weapon to make the best use of it.
Though I fucking hate playing Mystic Knight so I don't have any really specific advice for increasing your strength.
Multiclass more. Mystic doesn't do a ton of damage without some supporting stuff, but you'll tank damn near everything.
The Dargon's dargma system is based on resistances, and you're not meeting those resistance levels with your weapons you'll do the literal minimum damage , so you need to find better weapons to rarefy. The MK and MA are also the only characters that require both MA and PA stats, just going straight physical isn't what you wanna do, as the best powers for both use ice, and fire as straight damage and holy and abyss as guaranteed damage versus most bosses.
Get you the Virge of Madness or the Magebreaker maces to take advantage of that.
Also the MK isn't about damage, it's about spamming debilitation effects and AoE terrain control while being impossible to kill.
You either want Stone Jungle/Ruinous Sigil/Magic Cannon
or
Compass Slash/Ruinous Sigil/Magic Cannon as your mace skills, and Abyssal Anguish, Holy Riposte and Holy Enchanter as your shield skills.
Mystic can do some huge damage with abyssal anguish. It's really good with that augment that lets you do more damage when mounting an enemy. That's more of a Daimon strategy though.
