Just bought it, runs pretty good. Can't get any 1080p action, though.
Now this is pod racing!
this game was the best shit to the lil me
Nostal-gasm.
Have always said I'd love a modern fast-paced pod racing game, or at least a game that involves pod racing. I think you could make a really cool, gritty story out of mixed FPS/racing gameplay.
i woukd be so sick if they made a new podracing game with graphics like battlefront but lord knows EA would never get that creative with a star wars title
One of the only good things that ever resulted from the Phantom Menace.
I liked battle for naboo too
It was only a few months ago that I managed to get the original PC version working with windows 10, not only that but it was incredibly easy to modify the resolution and everything, so I supersampled 3440x1440 12 times. Hell, I even brute forced xbone controller support to make it more enjoyable. It took less than an hour and a half to completely beat the game. There was obviously no multiplayer support (pretty sure I was the only person on earth playing it on PC at the time), so there was only a few hours worth of replay value there trying to go for unreasonable records. GOG says this has working multiplayer, so I guess it's time for some real POD RACING
Can you imagine how awful it'd be on frostbite
IT'S A NEW LAP RECORD
I would fucking kill a man for a modern-gen podracing game. Episode I Racer was literally one of my favorite N64 games growing up.
Fuck Battlefront, give me the sweet 800mph rides.

(thx which one of u made this)
Played the game so many times. It hurts there is no modern equivalent or better
You weren't the only one ;) I play Ep1 Racer every other week still... Same as you, got it all setup for widescreen way back and it's always a blast to play. Mostly I just fire it up and go hunting for glitches and such, there's some amazing stuff you can find if you can keep your sanity intact.
One thing I've been working on for AGES is a way to enable the debug menu. It's referenced in the EXE, and with some code changes I can get the menu to show up as an option on the pause screen, but you can't access it. There's gotta be a way... but it's a bit beyond me. Being able to go insanely fast, be invincible, all sorts of cool stuff... would be a literal game changer for diehards like me. And it would make glitch and bug hunting SO much more fun!! Help me intelligent coders, you're my only hope.
Glad it's on GOG, is it actually widescreen? The listing is so void of information - one review mentions playing widescreen but that's it. Also, I can see multiplayer is LAN only sadly, but I guess there are options to do lan over the internet so with some friends it could work, but it's way more fun to play together in the same room.
Would you kickstart one if one would appear without the Star Wars IP but overall has a good quality, done in Unreal?
Damn I loved this game when I was a kid.
Eehh, that's hard to say. If it's not podracing then it's kinda just not the same.
I only had the demo so I know every nook and cranny of first level
You cannot beat Sebulba, he always wins! Ehhuhuhuhuhuhuhhhhhh...
VR Podracing would be amazing. Too bad we'll never get it.
Yeah I can't figure out how to access the video configuration program that one guy mentions. I didn't get one with it and I don't see any resolution options in-game or in the configs.
Huh, recently I tried getting my copy to run on Windows 10. Guess I don't have to anymore.
They come in here... they look around... they no buy... why nobody buy... AUHEEEEEEEEEEEEEyyy...
That's pretty odd, mine goes up to 1920x1080. only 16bit color though.

oh man I forgot about this, lol
Game doesn't work at all for me. GoG support is laffin themselves dead on my behalf.
I remember finding the hidden feature in the N64 version where pressing several buttons at a certain part of the main menu brought you to a track and if you won that race it would crash the game if you tried retrieving the high scores from said track.
Whoa what? I can't find that documented anywhere. Do you remember how you did it?
I don't remember the combination (can't press everything on a n64 controller), but it was one combination press like pressing a+b+z+right sholder button+maybe start+maybe all 4 yellow buttons. It was within the tournament hub overworld, maybe when it's getting into the bar before the holoviewer or someone else within the holoviewer menu system.
Also does anyone remember getting outside the racetrack to explore the map or being able to shoot yourself into the sky?
My hype for playing has kind of simmered after trying to play it last night - I can't get it to run in any custom resolution and I hsd to unplug my second monitor, and I couldn't get it to actually use my gamepad or joystick despite receiving input for remapping in the menus. Anybody have any luck getting it to run with a custom controller?
