I mean that's not new, hell iirc that's why the whole "let's make mosquitos immune to plasmodium to deal with malaria" idea died.
Delivery and making the biology do what you want it to do are still pretty massive obstacles.
The value from CRISPR is going to be long term based on cost and process reduction.
It took twenty five years to get tinny tiny teeny cellphones from Ma Bell Big Ass Rotary Edition.
This will be no different, and you won't see results that grab headlines for genuine nonhype reasons until a decade from now.
