• Old Rust Was Amazing

I haven't bitched about the ak recoils at all, but I remember when I started playing, I would be able to make a base as big as I wanted, farm sulfur while getting metal and stone at the same time. The thing that I'm making my point about is that the old rust bases were ((AMAZING)). If I had the time to farm for a huge base back then, I'd make it. But now not only can you build bases that big, it's literally impossible to upkeep it. I want them to make a branch where I can play with other people and make huge bases without having to have a 30 man clan having 2 people watch upkeep at all time. (comment what you think)
you can still play on modded servers with upkeep turned off... so I dont see a reason for your complaint... personally - Upkeep is good, as it fixed "unraidable" bases, along with many other things, like server performance, FPS...etc...
What do you mean by "old" Rust, ? previous to last update ?, update before that ? or before that ? etc If you want bigger bases go and play on modded servers , But then everyone else can get loot/weapons/ore and be in a position to raid at the same speed as you, I have never seen an unraidable base ? if you have enough time and equipment you can take down any base, It depends on whether you want to be able to loot it or no, or just want to "level" it,
And the new rust is even better
I like the new rust, I just don't like the environment and player interaction. It used to be you could make a big compound with so many people's bases, but now it's hard to do that. I liked it about 2 years ago, and yes captain russia, there are modded servers but there's just not enough people playing them.
server performance is garbage on every modded server that has high population. Also the largest official servers have never had this bad performance, but apparently they are working on a fix so rustafied eu main is going to be playable again.
The whole reason they've added upkeep is so you have to be with 30 players to get such a big base. Upkeep allows smaller players to stand a chance against bigger groups. Despite this you can still make a really big base, but it juist requires more people or grinding
If you don't play on official servers you probably don't know that there are still these zergs doing whatever they wish and this upkeep has not changed the gameplay in anyway. Just made it easier for large groups to wipe small group bases. http://prntscr.com/je1tor this was taken 1 day after the forcewipe when i had just logged on, was about 20 hours into the wipe
I personally think the upkeep should be dependent on how many players have tc access. The more players the more upkeep. Only allowing re-auth on tc AFTER 48 hours (if removed and trying to re-auth to stop people from avoiding the higher cost by un-auth) That would help with the solo small group vs. zergs and still allow for massive bases for both parties.
Those aren't really that big...
Auto Auto-turret doesn't even need TC auth, it has its own auth.
Exactly
There are plenty of ways to make this work. If people want to not use traps, then thats their call which only puts them at a disadvantage. Not sure about you but i put a ton of them around my base. The devs could easily make this viable through coding as doors, turrets, furnaces, grills, beds ect can all be coded to basically have a permission added to the building they are in. If people would want to skate it, it would only be to a disadvantage or a huge inconvenience.
