Damn those are some really beautiful skies, the nighttime one especially.
Meh
It looks good and I'll probably end up buying it because I loved the first one, but I wish I had the self control not to. I'm really not happy with Rockstar's business practices.
All that talk about fire is giving me some Blood Meridian vibes.
Can't wait for the RDR2 sharkcards.
Hey look it's your favorite Red Dead character

Red Harlow
Norman Reedus?
Eh, I was kind of hoping for a gameplay trailer this time, but this will do.
A connection to Revolver would be really dope, tbh. Red Dead Revolver was an underrated game.
Color me interested, but I'd really like to see what new things they're bringing to the table gameplay-wise. I'd love to see a bit more survival elements added if it's there's a significant enough of space between towns and settlements. Also, I know it's set more near the end of american indian wars, but it would be interesting to include some conflics with native indian tribes.
For now it looks more like vanilla spaghetti western bank robbers learning to like/hate each other.
I'll wait to see what the multiplayer is like because the story doesn't seem like it has anything new to offer to the Western genre.
The "death of the west" theme is pretty played out, and while I'm still kind of bummed it's a prequel, I am kind of excited to see Dutch's gang in their prime. I'm guessing it's gonna be more like GTA V in that respect, where some of the bigger missions will be heists, robbing banks, trains, and probably a river boat (considering that's where John got shot while riding with the gang) , things like that.
RDR is still one of my favourite games of all time and I love it to death but all I get watching this trailer is a deep dread that Rockstar is going to kill this with their scummy business practices.
Hope the story and characters are total garbage like GTA 5
This seems allot more like a contemporary western. 3:10 to Yuma, the 2010 True Grit, ect.
That's fine and all, but the love of 70's-80's spaghetti westerns is what got me into it.
Last time they managed to sell GTAV 3 times. Old consoles, new consoles and then PC. I didn't look up any numbers but I'm pretty sure they made big money each time. I won't make any bets but it would surprise me if there isn't a PC port.
I knew it was coming to PC but I still bought the PS3 version just because I wanted it right then and I knew I'd play the hell out of both versions. This time I think I'm just going to wait and if a PC version doesn't materialize I'll get it for cheap later on.
i hope they don't pull that ingame cash for real cash in online
I have nothing but low expectations from Rockstar these days
Of course they will. They'll include some equivalent to shark cards like silver bars or some shit like that.
finally, the return of the titular Red
I have to wonder though. I can see people spending cash in GTAO for all the cool vehicles and cars. But what the fuck do you buy during the cowboy days? Faster horses? Flying horses? Horses with a spoiler?
That's true, I won't be holding my breath. But it's worth to keep in mind that porting something from last gen to PC was a fair bit of work, while porting something from current gen to PC is supposedly very easy. If that's true, it's basically free money for them.
I liked the first game but there's something about it being a prequel I don't like but can't put my finger on it.
It's Take Two we're talking about.
I've given Rockstar and Take2 plenty of chances over the years with the games that they make, But after GTA online i don't exactly hold them in the highest regard anymore.
I doubt they will skip a PC port this time, they have no real rhyme or reason to skip it.
Unless they don't want our money but then again this is Take2 we're on about right now, i wouldn't be surprised if they released this game on every console known to man (Including the switch) then made a premium edition for online or something.
The trailer looks cool and cinematic i guess but i can't help to think that the online will be ruined and milked like V
“We aim to have recurrent consumer spending options for every title that we put out at this company. It may not always be an online model. It probably won't always be a virtual currency model, but there'll be some ability to engage on an ongoing basis with our titles after release across the board."
"One of the things we've learned is if we create a robust opportunity, and a robust world, in which people can play delightfully in a bigger and bigger way, that they will keep coming back,” Zelnick told investors. “They will engage. And there is an opportunity to monetize that engagement."
Yeah it would be a safe bet to say there will be.
god who i'm i kidding
While there are many other games that make me consider buying a next gen console, this isn't one of them due to Rockstar's shady tactics relating to GTA:V, I love their games but damn have they gotten pretty cash grabby.
I just bought a switch because I know most of the exclusives Nintendo makes won't end up on PC, but games like this are 100% up to the developer and Rockstar has completely ignored the PC gaming community, if they make a decent port and it isn't ten years from now I'll be legitimately shocked.
