http://www.bbc.com/news/business-43983958 "Despite Cambridge Analytica's unwavering confidence that its employees have acted ethically and lawfully..." That's some really misplaced confidence there.
When you have to announce unwavering confidence in your company's lawfulness, you know you've fucked up.
I get the feeling they'll just make a new company under a new name and continue what they were doing.
Oxford Analytica
Never forget how they've just carried the evidence away through their own front door. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/211035/b8b4da6e-0407-4889-b5ae-c76bbeb25e39/image.png How cocky can you get?
Democracy will never be safe again. Every election worldwide will have the uncertainty whether folks were manipulated with fucking facebook memes.
This needs to be way more well known. If people don't fucking know this, they're letting it happen all over again. Good people need to stop bad people.
Shocking!!! https://twitter.com/nickconfessore/status/991791976122109960?s=19
"We're shutting down" seems to be corporate-ese for "we're putting on a new wig and hoping nobody notices".
That or they use PC terms like company restructuring
what the fuck does the term restructuring have to do with political correctness
PC can just mean sanitized/whitewashed terminology like in this case
I think the word ignhelper was aiming for was "innuendo". Like how, in video games and the tech industry, "delayed indefinitely" is code for "cancelled". Or dead civilians are "collateral damage".
And if you believe that, I've got a splendid lineup of bridges to show you! Can you believe they're just giving them away?
I don't mean it in the sense that its 'political' but that its a more 'official' term companies tend to use rather than to just say they fucking went broke or collapsed.
mother jones says the new company that they are moving to might be emerdata https://www.motherjones.com/politics/2018/05/emerdata-cambridge-analytica-shutting-down-facebook-trump/ EMERDATA LIMITED
While part of this will be because they're company that needs to be quity and in the background to function correctly, another part will be because they're removing assets from the company (thus the bankrupcy) so there is nothing for the government to take when they lose in court.
