Dont some gene editing techniques use viruses though? Wouldn't this block such treatments?
The “grand-scale community-wide project” will develop cells that are also potentially resistant to radiation, freezing, aging and cancer.
Probably a bit too ambitious.
Ambitious or not, which would you want more?
Radiation and cancer are the two I chose, my ol lady says freezing.
I can finally join Atom and bask in the glory of his glow.
I would also like to point out that this would prevent current viruses.
Assuming this could possibly work (and thats a big if), that wont change the fact that viruses evolve. People will be resistant to the general viruses, their immune systems become weaker since they wont be needed, but then a new virus strain pops up, and ends up killing people.
take my worries with a heap of salt but this seems to have far too many problems to be reasonably possible.
I watched a video the other day explaining that 60-80% of people are already immune to CRISPR Cas9.
I'd go for all of them If it is feasible to turn our cells into tiny pristine fortresses without negative effects. Although If we were limited to two, Anti-Aging, and Cancer Resistance.
It sounds like humanity is getting buffs.
Would Vaccines still be viable In these situations?
You shoot as high as you can and then cultivate the threads that are viable with prioritization.
Aging, radiation and cancer go hand in hand.
Fuck cancer, I much rather that happens
sounds like some marketing wank they made up to get uninformed investors on board
Yea, That was my thread talking about that. And video in ends also talk about possibly to find loophole for that problem before this happen.
