The U.S. government has confirmed the sale of 37 Javelin anti-tank launchers, and 210 missiles made for those launchers, to the Ukrainian government. It's a move directly aimed at supporting that nation’s war over in its eastern provinces. Ukrainian Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak said troops would start training with the shoulder-fired Javelins today.
KYIV -- The United States has confirmed to RFE/RL its delivery of American-made, Javelin antitank missile systems to Ukraine in a move that is welcome in Kyiv but will almost certainly enrage Moscow amid a four-year conflict that pits Russia-backed separatists against Ukrainian national troops.
will almost certainly enrage Moscow
Lol, too bad.
I expect he US will be wanting to get feedback on how effective it is against modern Russian tanks. The system must be getting a bit old now.
This will probably do a lot of damage to any heavy equipment the Russian-backed rebels use. Whenever they attack, it's always with artillery and tank attacks. Both of which are fair game for the javelin.
anything that helps the ukraine is a good thing tbh, russia needs to chill with the Warsaw Pact / Russian Empire / Grand Principality of Kiev / Tsardom of Russia flashbacks like you've spent centuries repeating the same expansion actions just try not doing that for a generation or two
Travelling to Ukraine in 3 weeks, hope I dont see any Javelin's flying above me
Huh. I wonder if this is a case of “gib missiles, Trump, and we’ll stop helping mueller” or just a coincidence.
