Not the first time I hear about that
I've heard about psychedelics like LSD being used in schizophrenic therapy the fact that this stuff is so illegal is fucking infuriating. Maybe it's not magic miracle juice, but the potential we have with these drugs has very few limits
And my understanding is that when they things like LSD or ecstasy in therapy, it's typically at such low a dose that you don't even notice, which makes it even more depressing that they're super verboten
If weed is legalized MDMA is probably next imo. It has some pretty good potential effects, and iirc, the negative effects of it still aren't as significant as cigarettes or even alcohol.
legalize recreational radiation chambers so I can just cut to the chase already
I find it wack as shit that I can get prescribed coedine easy as shit for my knee issues but the idea of even attempting treating people with "Scary Drugs" is so taboo that most tests with it have to be done on an almost clandestine basis, and most people won't get to experience them except in crazy, shady circumstances. I haven't fucked with a lot of illegal drugs but I will tell you this: coedine (and morphine, which I've been given before too) are some real scary shit.
I think there probably is potential for MDMA addiction, however I don't know how likely it is. If you use it for a few days in a row, by the third day it doesn't really have any effect and you're normally feeling so delicate and depressed on the comedown you really don't fancy any more. I do love MDMA though, the feels from pure pills is unrivaled, you love absolutely everyone, having deep heart to hearts with pals. It feels good for the soul
I seriously would get into micro-dosing if I could access it legally, it'd be amazing Low dose use seems to have practical benefits
Well no they're not comparable but MDMA does have medical qualities and is proving very valuable in combating PTSD.
Many of my fellow junks, have taken ectasy and LSD in "microdot" quantities, with the hope of curing their addictions to heroin and the like. It works pretty fantastically from what I'm aware of. Not too mention their was also another study about... six months ago..? It stated that magic shrooms hallucination doses can actually allow people to deal with trauma that they have hidden away most of their lives. They had several victims of sexual assault partake innit, and six months later, said people were not only better, but they moved forward.
ketamine and its analogues, as well, habe very good potential for treating depression. i'm excited to see where things go for psychedelics and such as therapeutic tools.
I believe you're speaking of Ayahuasca which contains DMT. Are you speaking of LSD analogues? MDMA can be very addicting, especially for those with an addictive personality. Sure you won't feel the same effect after taking it multiple days in a row, but people combat this by increasing their dosage. I personally don't think it should be legalized for recreational use because of the extreme care that should be taken when ingesting it, and unfortunately a lot of people don't and may use it recklessly. Thought I'd post the negative effects listed on Erowid (negative side effects increase with higher doses and frequent use) inappropriate and/or unintended emotional bonding anxiety or paranoia (less common than opposite) agitation (less common than opposite) tendency to say things you might feel uncomfortable about later mild to extreme jaw clenching (trisma), tongue and cheek chewing, and teeth grinding (bruxia) difficulty concentrating & problems with activities requiring linear focus short-term memory scramble or loss & confusion short periods of swooning, or disconnection from the external world, usually at very high doses or during brief blasts of intense rushing while coming up. impaired ability to focus eyes / blurred vision (related to nystagmus and dilation) muscle tension insomnia, inability to fall asleep when physically tired erectile disfunction and difficulty reaching orgasm increase in body temperature, hyperthermia, dehydration (drink water) hyponatremia (don't drink too much water) nausea and vomiting headaches, dizziness, loss of balance, and vertigo sadness on coming down, sense of loss or immediate nostalgia post-trip Crash - unpleasantly harsh comedown from the peak effect hangover the next day, lasting days to weeks mild depression and fatigue for up to a week severe depression and/or fatigue (uncommon) possible strong urge to repeat the experience, though not physically addictive possible psychological crisis requiring hospitalization (psychotic episodes, severe panic attacks, etc) (rare) possible liver toxicity (rare) possible neurotoxicity (controversial) small risk of death; approximately 2 per 100,000 new users have extreme negative reactions resulting in death (rare) Yeah dissociatives do have some crazy powerful anti-depressant effects. I heard recently they're testing a new antidepressant which is a mix of Wellbutrin and Dextromethorphan.
Basically this, on the same page with my experiences. If you haven't done it, it's pure bliss you haven't felt in your life before. It's a really bad thing to have in your local drug markets cause it makes people go crackhead. If it were legal so many people would be geeking constantly, you need real scarcity with that shit. That being said, MDMAs use in this study is basically used to generate deep emotional trust with the therapist that could only be had before from sometimes -decades- worth of sessions. It's less a therapy based around MDMA and more that MDMA is allowing an ease of access to real deep therapy.
i used LSD to quit smoking cigarettes. i haven't had one in over a month!
