• Software that monitors webcam activity?

Is there such a thing or is it possible to have a program that alerts when webcam has been activated, or even reveals what applications are doing it? I'm generally interested in how you can improve webcam security
>I'm generally interested in how you can improve webcam security If it's USB, unplug it. If it's a built-in, a piece of tape.
If you're on the latest build of win10, you can also turn off camera device access entirely from the privacy settings. otherwise, I don't know of a software, for windows that can do this. Process explorer does have the ability to find which programs have DLLs loaded, and a search for your camera device ID tells you which program is using it but I don't believe this fit's your criteria https://superuser.com/questions/335116/finding-out-which-app-is-using-the-webcam
That sounds like precisely what I was thinking of!
Not automated but, it can do the job
Automating it would be perfect but that would require coding knowledge I guess
My anti virus, ESET Smart Security lets me know and prompts to allow programs to use my webcam.
