By the sounds of things there was a 6.9 magnitude earthquake that triggered volcanic activity on the main island of Hawaii.

Oh wow 6.9? Didn't feel like it at the time. Felt like a big truck was going by, then I realized that there was neither a truck going by, and there isnt a truck large enough to shake the house that bad. Some times I forget I'm living on a volcanic island.

I don't want to accuse the Hawaiians of anything but on Sicilia and at the Vesuvius the houses that get destroyed are pretty much exclusively the ones that were built illegally in the first place.
