Hello good people of facepunch. Today I present to you my first ever model. So I was looking through some maps and I came across one of my favorate portal 2 maps of all time which consisted of a vault door which I saw as a good opportunity to make a map around. Seems as the door didn't work in gmod properly I decided to completely remake it from scratch and here are the results.

Please keep in mind that this is my first ever model so it may be bad or what ever just tell me what you think.

Here is an image of both of them in 3ds max. Valves door doesn't have a texture for some reason and there was no point in trying to fix it. I purposely made my door bigger and the centre mechanism smaller to make it look better in my opinion.
What I like the most is the texture, it looks like a remake akin to black mesa, the original is just so boring in comparison.
Also how did you get the first 2 screenshots? SFM or in-engine rendering? I'm kind of shit at showcasing stuff...
This is in engine. Actually how I'm going to present this in my up coming map. Its simple. Just tinker around with an env_projectedtexture and you will be good.
Ive been rigging the door for the past 2 days. Works as it should now. This is the first time i've ever rigged anything.

I managed to animate it. The animation isn't finished yet but its getting there. Hope you peeps like it.
