Powerful Investors Push Big Companies to Plan for Climate Change
wtf climate change is real?:??? why didn't anyone tell me
Yeah well, they're past the point of sweeping it under the rug cause the stock market will go up in flames if things don't change.
Its that simple
Plus theirs also a lot of investment opportunities for green energy, it isn't the gimmick it use to be.
Strange times when shareholders are doing the right thing, and the government won't.
People will listen to money.
This is good news, but there's the sad realisation that If they had done so a little sooner we might have averted the worst of climate change. Now thanks to scores of denying gibber-fucks it's probably going to get a lot worse before it gets any better.
So how long until the GOP reverses the “climate change isn’t real” propaganda train?
When they get some sacks of money thrown at them from a company that believes climate change is real.
Or in other words "when the coal and oil lobbyists run out of money/their employees are no longer so easily exploited for votes".
I think Apple/Microsoft/Google could match the kochs and co. right now
Hence the "exploit their workers".
Coal-miners don't care if there's new industries, they want to mine coal. Some are willing to change fields, many more aren't. Same with oil workers. They're so used to having such a fat paycheck from those industries that they just want everything to stay the same, environment be damned.
GOP: wtf I believe in climate change now
Don't know about oil but coal miners have been treated horribly for a long time, company stores etc. That one coal magnate who had like a hundred safety violations who got butthurt at John Oliver.
Sad if they want to stay part of an industry that is fundamentally dangerous and doesn't care about them.
careful there, climate change is real as much as UFOs are real so what you really wanna say is man-made climate change is real (or alien UFOs)
