• Areaportals turn black

The fact that everything is black and other parts of the map show (looking into the void) means that the areaportal stays closed when the door opens. Try debugging it ingame with the console commands r_portalsopenall and r_portalscloseall. If that fixes the issue, you should look into the settings of the entity that triggers the door to open because it should also trigger its corresponding func_areaportal to open as well.
how would i do that? the make the trigger turn the areaportal on and off

yes i know how this works but the thing is for some reason when i link the areaportal to the door its doesnt open thats my problem and btw this only happens when the areportals is opened by a trigger
