Hello good fellow people. I'm just here to ask a few questions, and possibly get somebody who is really good at lua to do it.
So, I love the old school Gmod, especially its q menu. Now I have searched for almost a year now for someone who could create the Gmod 12 spawn menu, and bring it into the current Gmod, I have had no luck.
Now, if there is someone out there could bring this into Gmod, that will be amazing!
Old Q Menu
Old button click noise (when you click on an NPC or a prop and it makes a noise)
Circle animation thingy when you freeze props.
Why are people so desperate to bring the GM12 spawnmenu back? it's worse than the current one in every way.
It was so much better. And if the GM12 Q menu was brought back, people would love it!
For reference, this is the GM12 Spawn Menu

and this is the current(?) spawn menu

Better how? In what way?
Really the only noteworthy difference at first glance is that it formerly had a dark theme which some people would probably find preferable. Everything else either performs similarly or better in the newer menu.
Adding a switch for dark mode would probably appease a lot of the people that long for the fabled "gmod 12 spawn menu"
Being able to sort spawnlist and find them was better, spawnlist (Although that's a 4:3 image) in gmod 12 had more space for more content and it weren't bloated with custom icons sizes, categories, etc
But besides that, it's crap
The old one wastes a lot more space, especially on widescreen monitors.
I don't see how finding spawnlists was better, you could only sort by name and prop count, the latter of which is not very useful i'd image.
You can manually rearrange every spawnlist in the new menu to your liking and that can be saved across sessions. I can't think of any better system.
You use a certain spawnlist commonly? You know where exactly it is or you can just put it exactly where you want it.
Bloated with custom icon sizes? There are like 10 icons MAXIMUM with non 64x64 sizes in the default spawnlists. Hardly bloated. Don't like the default size? You can simply resize it to your liking yourself and save it across sessions.
You want to create your own spawnlist? You can do so by simply drag'n'dropping icons around. Making your own spawn lists in GM12 was a literal nightmare (as far as I can remember) where you had to manually edit the spawnlist files.
Don't like categories? I don't see why you wouldn't, but you can always just get rid of them yourself.
Didn't mean to say why I don't like it, as dev I find it fully functional and correct, just supposed few reasons why people might dislike it (Even if those reasons are dumbs), but nostalgia hits and we remember to have too much fun with this menu ;-;
