How do you make players download custom content through a website when they join

i have some custom content i dont want to upload to the workshop so does anyone know how to do this, atm i have it up on my website and put all the files in something on my website then put the donwloadurl to that so poeple could download it but it doesnt work for some people does anyone know if im doing it wrong?, or a even better way to do it
