https://youtu.be/24cIBHsTlo0 The most underrated of the moves from TMP era, honestly people give it a bad rap because it's one of the odd numbered Star Treks "curse" and because it came after Wrath of Khan, but I still think it's a fantastic movie with some really good scenes, with Christopher Lloyd as the terrific Klingon Kruge.
TMP was cool especially with the idea of V'Ger (There's some fan theories that the machine planet was the Borg homeworld and/or the Borg knew of mankind well before TNG because of V'Ger), but dear god did it drone on sometimes. II, III and IV were great movies in their own right as a solid trilogy, IV is especially fun b/c time travel shenanigans. V is just weird. VI is pretty neat and has some interesting political subtext (not surprising since it released not too long after the dissolution of the USSR).
I liked all of them except STV. I wasn't aware of the "odd number films suck" thing so watching STV came as a huge shock for me when I realized how bad it was. I'd still rather watch V than most of the TNG-era films tho.
I think the game Star Trek: Legacy played with that idea: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=anMOQ3vTy9k
I can't say for most of the TNG films, but First Contact is easily superior to most, if not all, of the TOS movies (including STV).
