• Idea: Crowdsourcing for new subforums with coins

Since the transfer to newpunch, there have been lots of changes to the subforums. We also have the coin system now, so why not facilitate the use of coins to further evolve the forums? Idea: a system whereby users can suggest new subforums. When they do, they have to invest 100 or 200 of their coins into the suggestion. If at least 9 other members also contribute 100 or 200 coins each, for 1,000 or 2,000 coins total, maybe the idea can be submitted to Garry for approval. This would let veteran members influence the evolution of the forums, and ensure that there's actually demand for new subforums, by requiring at least 10 members to invest in that new subforum suggestion. And because those members have invested in the forum, there may be more of an incentive for them to stick around and contribute to those forums, as opposed to a lot of the subforums now where many of the posts are drive-by posts.
To add onto your suggestion, after it gets approved, we could always nominate members to moderate the new subforum as well, which if done right, wouldn't add any additional work to the current mods. Of course it wouldn't be some random dude, it'd be somebody FP trusts as a whole.
I'll die before I let rich furries secure a place on this forum for their sordid pagan rituals
Voting in new mods isn't as good an idea as you think
Vote to make me a mod, I'll make pay-to-bans 1/2 the price of the regular ones on the forums if you pay me directly
I can't believe I could live to see a world where "poopooweeeweeeeeeee lolll!!!!!!!xdDDD" is a subforum.
I've been hoping this is what Garry would do when he gets around to custom subforums. They've gotta be expensive though so only the ones that count will be created. oify exists already???
we already have enough subforums as it is
Shhh, let's hear him out on this now.
