If I'm being completely honest, I wasn't the biggest fan of the last season Netflix did with this show
They weren't heavily pressured, so the writers tried a new method of storytelling for the season, but they seem to have learned that that doesn't work, so I'm actually pretty optimistic.
That was more or less because all the actors had busier schedules so they had to find a creative way to work around that by doing character focused episodes rather than ensembles. They've addressed that this didn't really work, hence the recut of the fourth season that's now available.
It's not perfect, it still suffers from the main cast being largely separate from each other, but it goes a long way into making it feel like classic Arrested Development

I just found out about the recut so I have to watch that. I never came to the conclusion about the actors as that does make sense. I just felt the individual episodes took from the show but if the new season is anything like the first three this would be amazing. Netflix has come pretty far with its originals so I am definitely gonna have to give it a watch
This show literally set up a joke in season 1, and didn't pay it off until season 3.
This show is "Call back jokes" and "Running gags" being used in the correct way.

In fact, I'm actually super bummed that they never went back to the long running joke about Tobias, and dropped it during S4.
I thought the same thing the first time I watched it, but after rewatching (like... a lot) I've come to love it almost as much as the first season. It was neat how everything tied together and all the stuff that was set up in the early episodes paid off really well
Pumped for the new season tho.
