Replacing the dipstick on my volvo, do I NEED to replace the tube?

Basically I'm replacing the dipstick on my 2002 Volvo V70 2.4t and a few of the ebay sources claim in a special note on them that you need to replace the dipstick tube when you replace it the first time. The only conceivable reason I can find is that apparently there was on some very very early model P2 chassis Volvos (and some 850's) a single oring dipstick and they discontinued it / replaced it with a double oring dipstick. Thing is I already have the double oring one so I don't see any real reason to actually replace it.
on the older v70's the single o-ring dipstick tube is actually shorter than the double ring tube. they switched to the double o-ring style in 2001 so this doesn't affect you at all
Thanks man! Enjoy your coins.
