This is legitimately some future shit. If I was shown this ten years ago I would think it was a joke.
Some really cool stuff here, especially the ability to book appointments with AI.
Waymo's logo looked really familiar to me, and apparently I wasn't the only one who noticed this https://pbs.twimg.com/media/C3mn-VTVcAYh_qn.jpg:large But besides that I think the coolest thing to me was the AR Street View stuff and real world text copying.
only ai can be this amazing and terrifying
Amazing.
i'm all for AI and shit but some of the stuff here is reaching dystopian science fiction levels of worrying i'm not a fan of google assistant making phonecalls for me at all
I can't wait for Google assistant to tell me 'I can't do that'
My dream is to work as a UX/UI designer for Google. What a job.
Everything's like "Make batteries charge faster" and "Kill apps to use less battery" and not "Optimise the operating system to be more power effecient" The moment I downgraded my OS back to a kitkat based, power consumption decreased significantly
I have only skipped through it but to me this looks like a parody presentation in a GTA or Watch Dogs game. They say "you now don't need to say "Hey Google" anymore", people are cheering and i'm just shaking my head. All I hear is "we found new ways to monitor your real life activities and capture your data by wrapping it in neatly looking features so you'll swallow it". Lately I've become really protective and angry about this whole data mining shit.
I stopped giving a shit about that a long time ago. The google assistant has been useful enough for me not to care that google knows where I get my groceries.
Lacking in identification and writing skills? Don't worry, now we just need to point the phone and an AI will do most of the work for us. Hopefully we can direct our efforts elsewhere, preferably towards something of importance, and not taking advantage of the automation to make us lazier and uncritical.
That's been my gut feeling the whole time. "Oh great, Google will be listening to me and learning more about me all the time, I can't escape its influence". I'm not looking to use any of this tech really, aside from maybe the colourizing of photos (that shit gets me goin). Sure, they're amazing leaps in technology, but it's removing the human elements from life slowly but surely. Maybe I'm just paranoid, or read too much Dick :v
