personally I would have liked it better if the screen was square instead of rounded. The way the "No SIM" message on the top-left of the screen looks like it's clipping the corner is kinda bothering me.
I dunno, I'd prefer either rounded screen corners with rounded phone corners or square screen corners with square phone corners.
Phone companies are perfectly capable of continuing to support headphone jacks in these form factors - it all comes down to whether they want to or not.
Xiaomi did it first a while ago.
Besides that the mega screen is a useless gimmick I love that camera mechanism! Privacy shutters are the future
It's not really a useless gimmick to have access to more screen real estate on a pocket-sized device. It's mostly a stylistic choice, granted, but I fucking adore the look of my Galaxy S8+, and the bezel on this phone is even smaller.
I'm apparently in the minority here though, because I fucking love the look of that thing.
Good point and I can't deny it looks good. Maybe I should've said annoying instead of useless. 5mm bezel on my phone is thin enough to regularly register unintended touch inputs from me merely trying to get a comfortable grip of the phone.
I dunno, maybe touch detection is better in more modern phones? How's that tech that distinguishes presses from touches coming along
I really like that camera. Totally share concerns about unnecessary moving parts but even as someone who isn't overly paranoid about a camera facing them 24/7, that front camera popping up looks cool as.
Yeah, I'm on an S8, and it's gorgeous.

I wonder how many phantom touches this shit will get just trying to hold it. They'd need some pretty aggressive palm rejection since phones with minimal bezel are generally a hassle to hold, watch videos, and pass to other people.
The best part of having an AMOLED screen, especially with a small bezel, is that at night, it looks almost as if there's a floating window to another world.
I love my Samsung S8+ but the edges irrate the hell out of me. I have a nice screen protector and case but I still managed the crack it from a 5 foot drop, with two different Samsung S8+'s. I am pretty clumsy but that has never happened with my Samsung S5. In fact, I never cracked a phone before the S7 Edge and S8+. I could chuck my Samsung S5 at a brick wall without a case and it still wouldn't crack.

Think this is my biggest issues with. Make it even smaller and you will "fat finger" the sides all the time unless they have some form of software solution to prevent it.
Oh and the round corners, can I get a square screen thanks.
I hope its just a concept and they don't stick with the protruding back camera. It will just end up getting scratched, did on my Galaxy S2, maybe not directly the lens but everything around.
They should just add the half a mm thickness to make it no stick out.
Biggest surprise to me is the large fingerprint sensor. Just recently the first chinese phone with it came out but it was just thumb size like the original tech demo.
Now its already half the screen, never actually thought it can scale up.
Overall I don't mind if smartphones mostly stay how they are, I just want an unobstructed screen with not too huge bezels but not too small.
My current Huawei P8 2017 lite is pretty cheap but it does its job fine.
My old S2 actually was pretty flawless except some micro scratches. I mean the metal border had some slight dents but the screen was still almost as new and that survived some quite harsh drops on concrete etc.
Samsung sure knows how to make their screens bomb proof.
Bezeless is fine...
But what about those dope ass glass slab phones you saw in Deus Ex Human Revolution?
I disagree. Whilst my S1 was insanely durable, I've had 2 S4s get hairline cracks in their screens due to heating up and cooling down. They had very fragile screens.
Never have I cracked a phone screen or ANY device screen until I got my shiny new Galaxy S8+. Literally the first week of owning it and it cracked. Got it fixed for $400 because my dad said "why would I pay for insurance on a phone". I wouldn't be as pissed if only for the fact IT FUCKING HAPPENED AGAIN AND IT'S A WORSE CRACK NOW TOO. I love the way the screen looks but I hate the curved screen. It makes it way too fragile
