That accompanying picture featuring Donald Trump with a shit-eating grin just makes this even worse. If these climate 'sceptics' are so sure it's fake, what's the harm in researching it?
"money going anywhere other than my pockets or the military, which then goes in my pockets"
Same thing that's wrong with investigating whether there was collusion. The fact they're wrong and they know it.
There should be an ironically hot place in hell for these people
Donald Trump is an enemy of mankind. The same goes for the GOP.
can someone slap this motherfucker already
You can bet that if Trump got slapped while in office he'd blow it up like it was an assassination attempt.
I loathe Trump and his shithole administration so, so, very much
Fuck Donald Trump
Couple more years and that'll be Earth.
Shouldn't Greenhouse gas cut research be done by an environmental group or department opposed to the administration dedicated to Space Travel and Exploration?
They don't need to be.
Nasa has climate scientists on staff because their jobs are impacted by the changes to weather and climate like this.
This government isn't about to put ANYTHING LIKE THAT into place, so this seems like nothing but a really bad dodge at acknowledging that the Republican Right doesn't care about truth, reality, or facts.
Yeah, they sort of thing should really be left to the Environmental Protection Agen-

Too bad we can't send corporations/people in power that ignore/falsify climate change with "alternative facts" to trials for crimes against humanity. There needs to be some sort of new court division at an international level for this to happen. Perhaps something similar will happen in the future, but that can't arrive soon enough.
The most obvious and easiest solution to this would be for every member of the Paris Agreement (every nation besides the USA) to enact sanctions against the USA.However, seeing as Trump and co would use this as some kind of justification for his administration's horrendous practices, it will probably make things worse - at least initially. But, really, what is the harm of driving Trump away from the international community even more? It would probably benefit the world if everyone collectively stopped putting up with his bullshit, and any damage to his ego is always welcome.
As an American I support sanctions on America 110%. Our "government" should be punished for trying to kill the planet and lie about it. It's disgusting.
If Donald Trump were elected in Russia, what would you call him?
Wouldn't be surprising if Russia is influencing Trump to sabotage our Climate Change research. Since the effects of Climate change are going to cause Chaos in the states. Just another way to dethrone the US as a world power.
Wouldn't be surprised if Russia had everything to gain from a generally warmer climate. Just imagine, all the warm water ports, a greener Siberia... It's be an absolute motherlode for them.
American here, can you try to ignore the states that did make the Climate agreement in the sanctions?

FYI for some who didn't know/want to remember, there were 3 countries that didn't join at first. Right now, there is only one country that didn't join.
Syria didn't join at first because they were in a civil war, and later on joined.
Nicaragua didn't join because they thought the Paris Agreement was too lenient, but eventually joined.
United States has a dipshit in office that thinks we're being screwed by the deal, or probably thinks it's a hoax, or some random bullshit that he thinks of, some reasons might involve Obama or Hillary (note that the last part is kinda spitballing here).
I don't get this. As of late its been trendy with the shareholders and profitable to boot by being all in on green energy production. If the GOP really followed the money they'd be all over green energy so what's going on here? It can't be coal lobbyists, coal is as dead as my great grandfather. oil lobbyists I could partially see but plastics, sulphur and complex polymers are used in anything remotely high tech and oil dependency isn't going anywhere but up so where the hell is the GOP pulling the "climate change is a hoax" rabbit from? Its ass? Unless donors and PACs want to drive a wedge into U.S. politics I don't see why they're telling their puppets to do shit like this.
Im not getting the bribe part because coal is so relatively easy to not only produce but also has a worlds supply of vendors making a stable and hard to compete with market because it is literally flooded with the little black rocks. Also again the coal industry is on its last toe so what kind of short term is this? 5 minutes of fame stock pump and dump? Seems to me like the GOP holed themselves up in a corner in politics and then decided to act on their "ill do anything just let me win" promises, a political cardinal sin as strange as it sounds.
